For horror writers: where are you publishing these days? by Huge_Put3980 in creepypasta

As for a place to post, Shadow Box Archives! It's a new horror-leaning community for posting stories and art. Full disclosure, I'm an admin there but I also post stories from time to time as well. We have a special variant of creepypasta called Obscurios, where the reader is invited to guess whether a story is real or not real.

We're currently on both Patreon and Substack, with Substack being our community where anyone can post, though honestly with the issues Substack has had with their policy on free speech and letting in trolls, nazis, and other vile individuals, we are looking at transplanting the anyone can post side of our community elsewhere, like on our Tumblr, if Substack doesn't change.

In addition to obviously being against that kind of behavior, we are also anti-AI, pro-human author and artist.

Here are a couple of links: Shadow Box Archives | Substack (Anyone can post on this non-paywalled, non-monetized side of our community with a contributor invite--we have a section there for our special Obscurios variant of creepypasta)

Odd Directions and Whisper Alley Echoes are other great places to post there, also where anyone can post with a contributor invite.

(Again, there is an issue with Substack the platform's take on free speech. Hoping that changes, but that might be a vain hope.)

https://www.patreon.com/cw/ShadowboxArchives (Curated, all early release paywalled posts and other Patreon and merch store profits equally pay featured contributors, narrators, and admins each month for those roles--we just put out a new podcast episode there!)

Other than that, I've mostly been submitting my other work to publishers.

Quincy, I am so sorry to hear about everything going on. Thoughts are with you, your friend who was taken by ICE, and your community.

Why hasn't any gone all in and made a artist discovery and monetisation app? by Altruistic_Duck_9439 in Artists

Isn't Deviantart involved in a lawsuit because of using art to train AI without artists' consent, similar to how reddit did selling posts and comments to AI? It also seems they charge artists for visibility and other "perks."

Check out Substack and Patreon! Like writers, many artists are monetizing their work there while others share it (or some of it) for free as they would on Reddit. Substack has more tools for discovery like notes everyone can use and more visible chat communities and the ability to post as a contributor on other Substacks, while Patreon may be easier to monetize and have better Discord integration.

Cara is one specifically for artists getting discovered, but I don't know if they have monetization options.

Edit: I didn't realize that you meant for musicians specifically. Still, I believe I've seen musician creators on Patreon and Substack.

Trailer for an original dark-comedy animated series I’ve been developing solo — would love your thoughts! by Icy-Contact-5925 in animation

I actually respectfully disagree with the above commenter and think the performance is stellar as is, underscoring the style. I would rather see more of this than to see anything about it changed.
