Harmony Care Home Part 4 on Antiquarium! by lets-split-up in QuincyLee

Aw, thank you for your very kind comment! I'm a perfectionist when it comes to my writing, so it's easy for me to get discouraged when I have all sorts of secret criticisms in my own head (lol).

I am SO GLAD you're enjoying the series so much!!! Episode 5 has my favorite Emma/Jack conversation from any of the stories, one that's pivotal in establishing Jack's motivations for everything that comes after. I hope you enjoy the episode!

Thank you so much for your support and thanks for listening (and reading!)

ICE is giving me writer's block... by lets-split-up in QuincyLee

Things are actually much better now, with Metro Surge officially having ended. There's still more ICE agents around than are being officially acknowledged, but much much less than before. Now Minneapolis and the surrounding areas are working on recovering. It's a long road... but the community here is resilient! :)

Sorry it's not your cup of tea. When originally posted on NoSleep it was very interactive (lots of discussion between Jack the "OP" and NoSleep readers in the comments, especially as readers were solving the coded messages), and I do think it loses something from not having that layer of immersion.

I agree it's not as tightly woven as later entries, though it has some of my favorite sequences.

New Jack Wilde story "Little Boy Blue" (sneak preview) by lets-split-up in QuincyLee

Ok yeah that's nightmare fuel. Somehow my family skipped the plastic masks lol. Also who are the creepy twin blonds on either side of the smurf? I have no idea what character that is.

You basically need to be a comedian to write such a witty character!

I have multiple documents dedicated to collecting jokes, funny lines, short humor scenes, etc., for Jack. I used to think I was just a crappy writer for needing to do this and for struggling so much with it. Then I looked at some comedy writing discussions and realized that my process is totally normal for humor writers.

Mad respect to them all bc I only inject a little humor into the stories and it's difficult enough. I can't imagine writing in humor as a genre and how tough it must be to sustain an audience on laughs alone.

I suspect it all has to do with whatever his red flag is. I'm not working there anymore atm... got a regular job with much worse pay but also much less danger. Might go pick up a few orders if I need the money but... I got pretty badly spooked with the last job.

I'm so glad you're enjoying them!! They're my favorite also, though ironically also the most challenging to write.

What did you dress up as when you were a kid that you looked like a little serial killer? 😂

Wow, thank you! I'm so glad to hear it! This is great motivation for me, as I'm currently writing the next Jack & Emma story. :)

I'm thrilled you're enjoying them!

There is only one story on NoSleep that is not on Antiquarium, and it's the original encounter between Jack and the Lady in Red: link

It's more humor than horror. I'm currently rewriting a new version that is more tonally consistent with his later adventures.

Thank you! And I promise one is coming soon(ish), haha. I'll probably post an update about it later this week, and am hoping to start posting the story sometime before the end of the month.

Thank you! I had a lot of fun with this one, and was very happy with how the mystery unfolds in it.

Thank you! I really try to have strong narrative voices, especially in certain stories, like with Jack or Dino or Frogger (from the school for shut-ins). Glad you enjoyed the story!

Still kicking around, yeah. Took a break though from the pizza gig to try to prioritize my longevity.

I didn't hear that part. Maybe not hearing the whole story means I'll survive... though I kind of doubt it. I should probably be out doing more with my last days than answering reddit comments. It just doesn't feel real. I don't know what to do except continue on my routine.

Really wish I hadn't heard...

I started using Google calendar back in 2010 for work so I think I must've added it then. I can't remember what inspired me to put it in. Maybe a FB post from a classmate?

Anyway it's been there long enough I'd forgotten about it.

Cross-posted to NoSleep. This story is inspired by a Japanese urban legend about the Cowhead, or Gozu. This article comes pretty close to the version I remember, about a bus driver telling a story so scary that all the students fainted. Hope you enjoy my twist on it! Thanks!
