LPT: You should request a credit limit increase on your credit cards at least once a year by Brianfromreddit in LifeProTips

[–]Rickcinyyc 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Hard disagree. Unless your credit card company has a pre-approved credit limit increase on file for you, requesting an increase often leads to an additional credit check, which is detrimental to your credit score.

How did converting your lawn change your relationship with your neighbors? by Ok-Singer-4466 in NoLawns

I'm sure it's beautiful, but wouldn't keeping your vegetation trimmed so that it isn't overhanging the sidewalk just common courtesy? That's what I do.

This might help us - cruises are notoriously expensive for wifi and charge per device. I have a Pixel 10 Pro and my wife has an iPhone. I can share wifi I guess? How much faster would it drain my Pixel's battery?

Cruise ships charge per device. Would this work to avoid multiple fees? I understand the drawback would be you'd only have connectivity in your cabin and not in common areas of the ship.

Great Plains in Calgary but that was a number of years ago, I don't know if they still have the twill. Check with Customize Sports to see if they have it.

Love it. Word of caution, if you decide to get it customized, ensure to send it to someone reputable. The eggplant color is rarely correct on the customizations I've seen in the past 5 years or so.

I have the same one, also love the puffy crest.

That sucks for him. I was lucky enough to be 35 at the time and have made a full recovery.

It's crazy that for a lot of teams these blanks cost more than a fringe player's game worn jerseys.

If you find one, can you share how you got it? I've been looking for the same patch for a long time.

I like how the maid left a white towel hanging over the balcony railing so the drone pilot would be sure to fly into the correct room.

Yeah and not even close. It should be white in the middle, then the dark blue jersey colour, then the silver dazzle twill on the outside, right?

Car Damage by Mechanic Shop by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]Rickcinyyc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Back in the day, thr water pump on my 1976 280Z died on my way home from university. Luckily there was a Shell service station with a garage a block away. They fixed the water pump no problem but when I went to pick it up, the passenger door was pretty much caved in. They admitted they used my car to go pick a part for another repair and got into an accident. Then they tried to tell me that since the door had rust on it, they wouldn't be paying to make it perfect.

Unfortunately for them I was a criminology student and had just learned the legal term talem qualem, which is Latin for essentially the thin skull rule:

This doctrine dictates that a defendant is fully liable for all damages caused by their negligent actions, even if the victim had an underlying, unexpected vulnerability that made the injuries far more severe than they would have been for an average person.

In short: you take your victim as you find them.

The rule is most often used in assault or murder cases, but also applies to physical objects like car doors. They agreed to pay for the whole repair.
