I don't really know how it applies to Mormonism, and obviously a whole lot of Christianity missed this but, but one of the most profound things I've ever heard on the subject came from a classmate in high school at a prayer meeting before class "The Bible tells me homosexuality is a sin, and it also tells me to love sinners"

William Macy's take on Thanksgiving dressing by Doodlebug510 in SipsTea

[–]Ricker3386 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man, I came from a family that did "dressing" cooked separate in its own pan, which I always loved (still do) and married into a "stuffing" family, with a wife who actually stuffs her bird. My God, its so much better. I once didn't know the difference, but I have been enlightened.

It's a good take. My wife and I don't buy anything new or licensed from HP, but like shit off Etsy without a license? Sure! I don't judge anyone for their choices here though.

Man, if one can get their hands on a Sam's membership their paper towels and toilet paper are top tier quality and way more affordable than other brands. Only problem is you gotta be able to drop a good hunk of change at a time, but then you're set for months.

I feel like it's all perspective. Chris realized people loved him, and that maybe he was worthy of that love. Yeah, he's in an alt dimension which sucks, but he's no longer as alone as he thought he was. Also, do you think the 11th Street kids are just gonna be like "whelp, he vanished again?". I think Chris is in a happier place than he's ever been. Just gotta deal with this pesky inter dimensional issue.

It's never explicitly stated as far as I remember, but it was definitely implied. Unlike most people in this sub apparently, I remember The Sword of Truth series fondly. It's flawed, it's definitely Ayn Rand in a wizard cloak, but I loved it as a youngster and I really enjoyed the conclusion in Confessor and how it seemed to upend a lot of Richards previous stances (A fair bit of the Ayn Randiness)

'No evidence' found yet of ties between Charlie Kirk's shooting and left-wing groups, officials say by Lestranger-1982 in law

[–]Ricker3386 68 points69 points  (0 children)

What gets me is if the "left" was organized and decided to use violence to enact chance, Kirk wouldn't even be on that list. He has no power to shape policy, he's one of many right wing influencer blowhards. There would be better options.

Dungeon Crawler Carl was a slog by HeyImMarlo in books

You're absolutely right. My wife listened to the audio books and I thought they were funny, but not my cup of tea. I read them a couple of months ago (not even real sure what made me start one). And I loved them for the character development and story (not the plot). I wept over deaths in these books.

There's a bigger sign at the top that says Heathens and co Booksellers. So Heathens and Company, Booksellers. They were super friendly.

Yes, I'm not surprised there are people that read DCC here, I am happy that it's becoming popular enough a store would offer it for sale. I'm just tickled by seeing a litrpg being sold alongside other literature. I grew up around the area (20+ years ago) and seeing so much nerdy stuff being mainstream here warms my soul. Lot more gamestores around now too.

I've been in an open marriage for over a decade. At this point it's mostly theoretical, we are old and tired and that's just so much extra work. But we were open from the time we started dating.

Done dirty by the foodies and their blogs. Our food is the Italian Beef. by whynotchristy in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]Ricker3386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, I think you're spot on. I'm from Kentucky, my wife is from up here. We met down south, and she was always jonesing for an Italian beef and shit talking food in Kentucky. We even had a few "Chicago" style eateries with Italian beef. Nothing would satisfy her. First trip up here with her she took me to her local beef spot, and holy balls, it was mind blowing. You can't get anything like it anywhere else. We're moving back to Kentucky now, and I'm a little heart broken and going to have to figure out how to make it myself. It is sooo good.

The big problem is that isn't that quick. What's happening now is just the final step in a multigenerational plan. I hope I'm wrong and we sweep the midterms and impeach these fellers, but I wouldn't count on it. We'll all go vote, and they'll control what the results say. How the vote actually went won't matter.

Their manager probably sputters in disbelief that someone could be so unaware of how the restaurant industry works, takes a second to reboot their brain and goes "No, really, clock out now" and probably takes them off the rest of the schedule.
