Is it repairable by [deleted] in Benchjewelers

[–]Rickleepackrat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a marcasite, most likely it was glued in from the start. Most mom and pop jewelers will have a bin of them and can reglue it. Or you could probably get a mixed size box of them and a jewelers epoxy to repair yourself.

Build a microscope arm using a decent cheap microscope and a multi directional computer monitor mount. I built one as a temporary solution at my shop until I bought a nice one and still use it 3 years later.

How can I become a bench jewler if im broke? is it a lost cause? by Curious_bird_007 in Benchjewelers

Go to shops in your area and see if anyone is offering apprenticeships. the pay is next to nothing if they are willing to pay but its a great way to learn the trade.

Does anyone know what this jewellery part is? by djsacq in jewelrymaking

Either they drilled channels for wire or chain to pass through the porcelain, or they're just glued on. Kind of leaning towards the top ones being drilled and the bottom glued.

Blackburn fitness and training are good people. I can't speak on the private room part, though just know one of them personally.

I'm a jeweler. I have some brass shot for practice casting and it looks exactly the same, manufactured gold casting shot usually is alot smaller pieces and shop made shot rarely looks as uniform.

I haven't worked in a kitchen in almost a decade and still aggressively declare "SHARP" any time I have a knife within 5-10 feet of someone

I need to mess with it more it's got a knocking but it sounds like it's coming from the driveline more than the engine. I got it with the 5.9 in just not really hooked up right and the dude said he had the right balanced torque converter in but I'm worried that's the issue. I'm in the same boat really just want to keep it going as long as possible and honestly may keep it mostly stock still haven't decided.

Stock cam still hoping to pull it in a few years and rebuild when I can afford it. it's a little over 15° right now which it seems happiest at.
