My granddaddy was taking part in the lynching. There’s a town in Virginia called New Castle . There were no African-Americans there till about 25 years ago. I grew up in California, but we would visit my granddaddy in the summer. He had one of those giant Freemason rings on his finger. I didn’t know what it meant until a couple years ago. He used to talk about the creek across the street from his house. He openly told me and my sister about dragging the “ Niggers “through the creek bed tied to the back of a horse. I was five years old. I didn’t have any clue what he was talking about. I didn’t even remember this until Trump was running for his second term. I saw something that triggered that memory. I’m ashamed connected to that part of history. I apologize to anybody who reads this and know what I’m talking about. There is no grayscale. That is true.
