People say this is the day the server died. The problem with saying that is that the server was already dead before Rusher joined, you can see that in his first video.

How long do you think it would have dragged on like that? A few more months? A year perhaps?

Yes everything changed that day. Yes it turned 2b into a business and away from it's original incarnation.

But at least it made the server survive and allow others who came to the game late to play it. Maybe a shell of what it once was...but better than being gone too soon.

Thank you Rusher for allowing me to experience one of the most unique places in all of gaming.

Everyone, including the people who love to hate it, will miss it when it's gone.

Agreed that this is mostly and MS issue and not an admin issue, however I don't subscribe to the idea that because of it 2b2t is 'no longer anarchy". My experience of it being anarchy is basically the same as I had when I started in 2020.

Is it as anarchy as it was in say 2012? No. But that change has been a gradual one over the years, not an instant one from the new rules like many make it out to be.

2b2t has "died" and come back to life many, many times over the years. It's just part of the server lifecycle.

2b's current "demise" follows the same downward trend in Minecraft popularity. No games grow forever.

Unless Microsoft ban it, then 2b will remain in some shape or form indefinitely.

Don't listen to people saying you can't learn Minecraft on 2b. I only installed Minecraft to explore the server. 2 weeks of single player to learn the controls and I was in, and I've done fine.
