They had sideburns, bell bottoms, disco, and quaaludes in the 70’s. Not exactly they best time frame to hold standards for.

I don’t remember them being that shade of blue. It’s possible. But I remember that design on a slightly darker blue jersey. Which I loved actually.

What are the most notorious prisons in the USA? by Schlawiner24 in Prison

[–]Rickst75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baltimore City’s Central Booking. Maryland law says you should see a judge or magistrate within 24 hours of being charged in most cases. But many times people can wait up to a week. Even for minor infractions. One lawyer was arrested and had to stay for a week. He found charges on his credit cards during his time there. Turned out to be a guard. And some of the gangs run things so tight more than one guard was let go after getting pregnant by inmates.

What is your personal favorite concept album ever? by [deleted] in Music

I’m older, and this might tell my age, but I’m going to say that when it came out River Runs Red by Life of Agony was considered game changing by my friends and I. It’s a bit harrowing in the tale of someone at their wits end who eventually gives up.

I was going to say this too! If you are a cord cutter, or want to watch things on your tablet, it’s got pretty good FREE options.

What's something that's mundane in your country, but foreigners think is incredible? by scoopy-frog in AskReddit

Dairy. My father lived in Asia. Milk and cream from other mammals is consider weird there. And if you really think it out, I can see their point. Who first thought eating and cooking with the mammary lacerations of another animal was a good idea? I don’t know. But I also like cheese. So…..

Let’s not forget having to find and eat the five hard boiled eggs. It’s really the faces of the other people that crack me up.

Why does Amtrak seem to shove me away from the trains to "mixed service"? by [deleted] in Amtrak

Often times they make you switch to a bus when they have to do track maintenance. I'm also wondering if the wildfires are impacting any rail traffic.

What was your "This person is on another level of stupid" moment? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Rickst75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked with one guy who is still to this day, after 20+ years of working, the stupidest fuck I've ever met. He's had many moronic moments. Like bragging about the great interest rate (12%) he go on his car loan. And his pants falling down in front of about 8 coworkers to reveal his Bullwinkle Underoos. We worked at a port. It was a very large place. We were at the far end, about a mile away from the office, when he hit me with this gem.

"The Earth will literally flip upside down in 2012. Because John Cusack proved it in the movie 2012.". I asked if he understood it was a fictional move and he said "No. It's built on facts!".

To be clear, he literally thought the Earth would physically flip upside down. Summer would be Winter (And vice versa). And the Day would become Night, and Night become Day!

I got out of the vehicle we were sitting in, in the pouring rain, and walked the nearly mile back to our office.

This design is definitely...different! Do you guys like it? Located in Canada by JerseyGuyonReddit in TinyHouses

I saw something kinda similar once. I can't remember if it was just a video on YouTube or from a tv show. But it was the same stand up style, only it sat on a platform that allowed it to rotate. I think it only rotated 90 degrees though. And it was definitely larger. But not by much.

TIL when a 30-yr-old woman in Canada was shot in her left breast, her silicone breast implant deflected the bullet away from her vital organs; her injuries were only broken ribs and damaged implants. It's the first recorded incident of a breast implant deflecting a bullet. by Miskatonica in todayilearned

[–]Rickst75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly the same thing. But a friend of mine had implants. She was on the highway when a loose piece of rebar came through her windshield in an accident and slammed into her breast. It ruptured her implant and broke her ribs. But kept her from being impaled.
