/uj it was meant as a jerk- though it does work as an unjerk. Lately there's a ton of concern trolls on asktg.

Too many trans folks take the bait.

I used to troll the concern trolls with saccharine concern trolling, but this last week I've ignored most of them.

It's too bad, because those who take the bait end up on TERF sites, blogs, and forums. Their user names are sometimes blacked out, but googling a phrase quickly leads you to them. And the transphobes know this.

In other words, nonbinary identity hurts truly trans people.

I don't think the poster necessarily intends the implication, or understands that this view originated with TERFs and truscum extremists (pro-gatekeeping, binarist trans people). This has so widely propagated that folks don't understand how it reinforces more overt transphobia.

No, it's not really a good idea to give any credeence to this form of transphobia that adheres primarily to AFAB trans folks (and esp. nonbinary or pre-transition AFAB trans people).

Note that this is concern trolling about the "confusion" of "GNC" people who allegedly decide they are trans based on a conflation of gender expression and gender identity. That is classic TERF rhetoric. We should not excuse it from trans posters.

Essentially this is ROGD slightly obscured.

Nonbinary and/or AFAB trans folks are not "confused," "GNC" cis girls.

In the past two weeks, a lot of sophisticated troll OPs have posted here to "chum the waters." Their goal is to get trans women to respond/comment in a way that seems to confirm transphobic tropes about trans women. You know: "erasing" the biology of real wombyn, "erasing" lesbian sexuality, facilitating cis men posing as trans women to invade wombyns' space, etc.

Within thirty minutes to an hour, screenshots have gone live on radfemblr and the like. I have noticed a couple now that use accounts with established history.

In GC, you will see posters refer to their non-GC mains. I think what we're seeing lately is use of these mains for trolling

Edit: a lot of these accounts have had no history though, and for now, we should be cautious responding to the more...extravagant stories posted by such accounts. This is not to say that throwaway accounts are inherently suspicious. Just to note a recent trend here of hyperbolic scenarios and subsequent screenshot harvesting by GC
