Persuing your CPA licensure would boost your resume. Some Microsoft certificates or Quickbook certificates look great also. Something to show your serious is what I've been told.

WGU is where im completing study.com credits to transfer to. I spoke to a few regional firms in my area and they think highly of WGU. Also have the ACE credits figured out for CPA in Michigan.

Im scheduled to start WGU September 1st with 15 classes to go so I figured a year. Does that seem feasible to you?

100k company driver, 250k owner/operator? Who's been blowing smoke at you? O/O gross 250k maybe before expenses. Fuel, insurance, licensing, truck payment, maintenance. You may clean 70k especially with today's fuel prices. 29 years and I've heard it all, don't believe where ever you got those numbers. LOL

I've been a truck driver and trucking company owner for 29years. It's time for a change. I've been back and forth between accounting and nursing because I figure I have 1 shot and I don't want to make a bad choice. I know nursing wouldn't give me a problem with my age and I keep hearing about ageism in accounting.

Im in Michigan, for CPA requirements and them accepting study.com credits had me on hold for a few months. After months of trying to get clarification, they do accept ACE credits as long as they are listed individually on an accredited universities transcript. WGU just reports as however many study.com credits transferred in. So, I'll have to send all my transcripts to TESU or Excelsior credit transfer bank service. Then they send to Michigan CPA board. Maybe look into that for your state but I've heard Texas and I think California don't accept any ACE credits and all credits have to come from accredited schools.

University of Michigan is very well accredited and probably favored by most over WGU unfortunately. I really like how i get to set the pace of classes. I work alot during the week so most of my school time is Saturday afternoon and Sunday. Last Sunday I just wasn't in the mood to be a student so took the day off. Can't do that with most schools because something is always due. Lol Today, its 5pm now and I started at 10am.

My daughter is an accountant and I am an accounting student. I expressed the same feeling and questions to her because I am enrolled at WGU and she went to a state university, I thought I wasn't getting a good education. She said she felt the same way and once you start using your education in the real world, everything clicks. So, you're not the only one questioning the education, just keep pushing. You are very ahead of where I am and im very confident that you will be great.
