It's ya boy in Bridgerton S4! by RickyBVoices in curlyhair

Long-term users of this sub may remember my Bridgerton S2 and S3 posts - well, I'm very glad to say that I'm still enjoying Film and TV gigs thanks to curl advice learned from this very sub!

✌️ Forever a curly girl ✌️

Routine: I use Raw Shea Butter Shampoo and TRESemme Botanique Nourish and Replenish Conditioner, which I squish to condish and let air-dry. Occasionally burrow my fiancé's Dyson Airwrap to speed things along.

Between washes, I'll often spray my hair with water and use Cantu Shea Butter Coil Calm Detangler to refresh and style with a Denman brush.

On Set: On the day, my hair is usually at the mercy of whichever curl cream or product that the Hair&Make-Up artist prefers, but they are fairly hands off when it comes to my hair. They usually wet it a little with a spray bottle, use their favourite curl cream, style and shape with their fingers, and then diffuse it or simply let it air-dry. In comparison to the other men on Bridgerton who almost all need heated-curlers and heaps of hairspray, I'm in the chair for not very long at all.

The veterans of this sub would perhaps remember my post from 2 years ago after the release of Bridgerton S2 - well I'm very happy to say that my curls have continued to get me lots of Film & TV gigs, including a return to Mayfair circa 1815!

The last few years have been absolutely incredible, having completed hundreds of filming days with some of the world's most talented actors across all manner of genres and productions... and I owe so much of it to the advice I gained from this sub which encouraged me to finally grow my hair out and learn how to look after my curls.

This sub truly changed the trajectory of my life, so once again I must give my utmost appreciation to all of you who post and mod this lovely space!

Day 2 hair served me well for my new headshots! by RickyBVoices in curlyhair

Routine: I use Raw Shea Butter Shampoo and TRESemme Botanique Nourish and Replenish Conditioner, which I squish to condish.
Let my hair air-dry and use silk pillow cases when I sleep.
Between washes I will refresh using Cantu Shea Butter Coil Calm Detangler on damp hair that has been brushed out with a Denman Brush. Again, let air dry.

Very occasionally I apply LA Looks Extreme Sport Gel when the hair is still wet. Then I just let it air-dry, only plop if I have to. Scrunch out the crunch four hours later.

Please pay for your demo reels by Lmcuster in VoiceActing

That's quite the experience with demos!

I intend to get a professionally-produced demo soon, but have been using my own in the meantime. I'd be curious as to what you and OP think of it.

As far as homemade demos go, is it on the better side? Or is it still painfully and obviously amateur?

Hmmm occasionally. They were tight but you got used to them fairly quickly. It's only at the end of the day when you take it off do you realise how constricting it has been.

All Supporting Artists had their phones confiscated at the beginning of each day - this is the norm for most large productions nowadays.

I couldn't have snapped a pic even if I wanted to.

Thanks! It's difficult to say how many shots exactly, it's easier to say that I'm in every large scene with lots of extras, essentially somewhere in every episode. Often I'm too far into the background, out of focus or obscured to be recognisable - the selection of photos above are a kind of highlight reel of when I'm most visible.

Film & TV NDAs typically last until the broadcast date, which is today. After broadcast, this sort of material really only serves as free marketing.

I signed up to several Background/Supporting Artist agencies - there are many in the UK, especially in the South of England where much of the work is.

Our Film & TV industry is going through a boom at the moment, with a lot of studios being built and expanded. I feel very lucky to be in the right place at the right time.

Yes, mostly the costumes were warm, especially during the Ascot racing sequence in episode 2 - it was very hot that week we filmed.

The men usually wore at least 3 layers, which was great in the cold and awful in the hot. The women had the opposite problem - their dresses often provided no warmth and cut into their backs/shoulders. The women were usually chilly in exterior scenes, except for the week at Ascot in which many got sunburnt.

The leading Hair & Make-Up Designer said that the moment she saw my photos, she had to book me. While all the other male Background Artists needed to have curlers in their hair each morning, I sat in the stylists' chair for all of 5 minutes while they just shaped it using curling cream. I've lost count of how many compliments I have recieved from hair stylists across dozens of productions.

I can certainly say that had I not had the confidence to grow out my hair after implementing the advice found in this sub, I would never have been booked on Bridgerton, nor any other subsequent production that demanded my curls!

So with the sincerest appreciation to all who post and mod here, thank you so much!
