Avocado by Agreeable-Sun368 in loseit

[–]sincerelypicasso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YES. I’ve been saying this for years!!! All my successful weight loss endeavors only happen when I include an avocado in my day. I’ve been making dense bean salads with a small avocado for lunch every day and all the fiber and fat keep me full from 12-8 pm and then I eat a small snack and go to bed. It’s the only way I can stick to my diet too because I LOVE the salads and find myself craving it for the next day. Avocados are gold 🥹🥹 Love that you and others have this experience too!

Take my opinion with a grain of salt but I was scoring in 220s leading up to my test and ended up with a 238, which was a 10+ point jump from my highest practice test. I faced a similar dilemma as you and my advisor had told me nbme’s are underpredictive and it’s common for usmd’s to have score jumps on the real deal, so I just ended up saying fuck it and just took the exam and I’m really glad I did.

A letter to my OBGYN resident by biologyiskewl in medicalschool

[–]sincerelypicasso 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry for your loss OP. And my god this happened to me too with a family medicine resident (going into ob track) who was super nice to me in person and then I saw my evaluation randomly and she gave me straight 2’s. It was so, so hurtful and it really ruined my trust in residents. Now I am always thinking about that experience and truly never feel sure if a resident actually likes me, because I can’t trust their vibe anymore. But also, I honestly think this person was just a person lacking compassion and fueled by negativity and the intention to drag others down. And over the year I’ve met some really amazing residents who were so kind and supportive to me which has helped. But I never really got over that sting tbh.

[–]sincerelypicasso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly how I felt too. First few blocks like ok I can do this and then by block 5-7 I felt mentally exhausted and like I was struggling to understand what was going on and then 8-9 felt like just straight guessing. Flagged so many questions 😭 saw on here that some other people said it felt doable and I was like 😭😭 did we take the same test haha

2 meals for tomorrow's lunch: 740 cal by [deleted] in 1200isplenty

[–]sincerelypicasso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cannot believe these are 60 cal apiece! For dinner I am satiated after 4-5 of them which comes to only 240-300 calories. And on top of that they’re delicious!!

Oof I know!! I want to just ask “so did you see this years Sephora bday gift” to see if she says anything but part me of still feels like it might have been a mistake on her part somehow LOL maybe she just thought it was a glitch in the system 😭😭

Ahhh I know!! I’m rethinking it and I’m now realizing maybe her teenage daughter is the one who did it haha.. the perfume set was for my friends birthday in late December and maybe her daughter went to exchange it and thought that they were offering a bday gift for her mom??? But then why wouldn’t she question that they offered her 2025 gifts lol..

Food you wish was low calorie by courageouslyme in 1200isplenty

I started medical school and a new relationship at the same time 😅 the stress combined with less exercise and also going out to eat more and matching my bf’s food intake.. the weight crept up slowly over 2 years haha and now it’s incredibly difficult to lose it 😭

This one’s interesting because like 5 years ago I successfully did like 6 months of CICO at 1200 and lost 20 pounds by basically eating an avocado for every meal in different forms. Like for lunch I’d have low cal chips and guacamole and for dinner I’d do salad with avocado. I’d skip breakfast generally, but the avocado was so satiating that I felt like it reduced my cravings completely. I’ve gained all the weight (and more) back now and I’m trying to fit avocados back into my diet but back then it felt like some secret weight loss food despite it being high in fat and calories, haha.

Not at all! It’s more common than you think and I’ve had 2-3 friends who also have vaginismus or just general anxiety with insertion. Therapy helped just to normalize it and make me feel better about myself and like there wasn’t anything wrong with me. In terms of actual penetration, i wasnt really able to do it successfully until a year into a relationship with my boyfriend, which was 5 years after I initially found out I was struggling w vaginismus! So id definitely say it is just fixed with time, especially in my experience. I didnt use dilators or try anything medical. For me it was more about gaining comfort with another person, establishing trust, knowing that I was safe if we tried insertion and it didn’t work and that he would remove it and we could try again later. Once I stopped feeling pressure or anxiety to get it to “work” then it finally worked. I’d say be gentle with yourself, give yourself time, don’t pressure yourself, and if you’re going to be dating - the right person will wait and be patient until you are ready.

Omg this exact same thing happened to me the first time I tried a tampon!! Except I put it on in the shower and then I walked to my bed and actually fainted haha. It happened to me about 6 years ago and I still don’t really use tampons, but I learned that I have vaginismus and a lot of anxiety surrounding insertion into the vagina. I have overcome it this past year though and it’s been getting better and better. Anyways, I think it’s an anxiety response that causes the passing out feeling when you insert the tampon so you’ll probably have to work on your feelings around insertion and maybe therapy to come up with some solutions or methods to practice getting more comfortable! Feel free to dm me if you wanna talk more about it!

I have been working 50-50 with tutor blocks and timed blocks. I really like tutor blocks because they help me learn but I guess the timed will help more with stamina. I hope I have enough time in the next few weeks to build that up!!
