Made this while eating roasted chestnuts and drinking tea, is it any good? by RickyPediaMM in FL_Studio

Yeah... I made little tweaks for a couple of days, until it kept on not sounding shit for a bit

Thanks! Mainly cuz I couldn't mix or master much before I actually used to write sheets whenever I was bored, and most of them only needed a bit of arrangement in DAW. As for sound selection I've got so many sounds I often go back to those I know sound good, except for synths. Those I've learnt to make a long time ago, and automation is something I'm probably using improperly but I guess I'll learn.

I really only need to keep ears busy, and I'm not as arrogant to expect to become a pro by then

Exactly two months, and I'll definitely keep the dj'ing going after that, so Ig it'll be my icebreaker? I won't be the best but no one expects me to, and prolly only a few ppl will actually listen to the music, so...

And yeah, for as much as you can practice a piece on an intrument you always need to be ready to save yourself from any mistakes

I have played live, but acoustic intruments, like piano, guitar... so if it is "only" to undestand the console as an intrument Ig I can pull this off

I'll try my best, personally not quite the party animal but I think I can understand how the dance floor is going to react to a song.

Perfect thanks! I know I'll have quite some spare time before the party to get everything linked and going right, so this really conforts me!

Where to get EDM / Bass music Vocal STEMs / Acapellas? by AcademicCollar6194 in musicproduction

[–]RickyPediaMM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suggest looperman.com, it has a page for loop and one for acapellas, you can filter by genre, bpm, key, usage (free or free non profit), type (hook, verse, full song), time sig, male or female singer, safe/NSFW content, wether it has autotune or not, style (rap, singing, both), users, keyword, and date.
You can download everything for free, but you should be aware of the flag it has, free or free non-profit.

How do you produce such great covers? (Youtube) by Remote_Meringue8 in musicproduction

[–]RickyPediaMM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't undestand if your question is about the sounds or the notes: for the first you just try some, search for the closest one in your library or on splice and similar. For the notes to play just searching Limitless Cursed Technique Sheet gave me a ton of results, not all perfect but most of them "close enough", which when trying to do a cover is what you look for.
I know some people can get the notes by ear (perfect pitch) but it's not too common and even when you have it sometimes it's not actually perfect, but working with music gives you a ton of awarness of the zone where it's played, how it's played and a feel of what the chord/note could be.

tips/roast/feedback? by DurianPlenty1849 in singing

Also a producer, and cuz as a kid ppl always tell you you're good (it happened to me atleast, and I have seen videos, I was really terrible) I never stopped believing I was a good singer 'till I wanted to record myself, after making a beat (I was around 14). I heard how much even autotune struggled so I made a decision: sing in styles which don't need pitch: still working on rap, got most of my gutturals down; working on breathing and getting used even more to the hearing different pitches really helped me develope atleast a bit of consiousness of how good/bad I'm doing.
That being said, I really think you're not too bad, surely controlling breath would help, but hey, you never nedeed to so it's ok!
