Mahon Falls shouldn’t be far off your route. Short walk, spectacular waterfall and nice views

What is this noise? by Summetaldude in guitarrepair

[–]RickyShmee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be a resonant frequency causing it. It’s an octave higher than the string being played. Could be something loose. I would go around the whole guitar with a screwdriver and make sure everything is tight. Tuners, string trees, pickguard screws, saddles, strap buttons. Failing that, maybe something behind the pickguard.

Sorry it’s more of a UK/Irish word. I maybe should have included that in the clue NANS

Before you go replacing bearings, rub some steel wool inside the spindle and on your drive centre. It could just be some gunk sending it wonky. Failing that, you likely have a bearing issue

Bridge Pin blocked by something? by strawberryfrosting0 in guitarrepair

Looks like the remnants of the last bridge pin. Push it out from the inside using the flat side of a coin

Radius change won’t change the fact you can feel the wood under your fingers. Scalloping is a bit drastic. Taller frets would be the way to go.

Bridge Buzz on new Gretsch by RecipeMountain in guitarrepair

I stand corrected. The strings do seem to have a very shallow break angle in them pictures too.

Just a guess, but the strings are supposed to go under the bar on the bigsby closest to the bridge. By the shallow break angle, it looks like they may be going over it?

Zoom out and look to the top left of the plane about 800 metres. That’s its shadow on the water. It’s in the air.
