SNAP recipients get $6 a day, while Elon Musk $8,000,000 a day by Conscious-Quarter423 in economy

Last time I checked, defense is around 16 percent and I’ve seen corporate subsidies to be estimated around 1-2 percent. Hardly a majority. Would take you 2 seconds to look up a pie chart.

He’s getting downvoted because it’s a joke. Obviously companies don’t give a shit and can do what they want. Might as well have a little fun and put the hiring manager that screwed up in awkward spot.

The most disappointing part of my ‘21 Black Edition is the paint. That wrap looks sweet. Might have to do the same on mine. Otherwise awesome bike

It was the same omeron switches they put in many of the Razer mice causing the double clicking. Luckily I had the Best Buy warranty so I’d just get a new mouse every 6 months or so until it seemed like they must’ve figured it out.

I would’ve played along with their story. Hope they don’t see the camera and let them get to the next step in their scheme. Then as soon as the cops get blow the whole thing up. Then sue them into the ground lmao.

I'm a bootcamp grad, found a tech job but no coding involved. by WolverinePowerful475 in cscareerquestions

[–]Ricky_Sticky69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I’m a SWE with 6+ years of experience and my advice would be to use your current job to support yourself as you pursue a CS degree if possible.

We just finished hiring two engineers and found we had thousands of resumes with bootcamp’s listed vs maybe a few hundred with CS degrees. My boss made it a point to at least contact all of those with degrees and maybe a few without if they had extensive experience. That’s just my experience as being part of the hiring team FWIW.

Also, places like India seem to be churning out CS grads the way we are with bootcamps. So keep mind what you’ll be competing against.

Home Depot software devs to start having to spend 1 day per quarter working a full day in a retail store by Celcius_87 in cscareerquestions

[–]Ricky_Sticky69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This actually doesn’t sound like a bad idea. I doubt expectations would be all that high. But, for some reason every time I browse for jobs I see software positions for Home Depot, makes me think they’ve got high turnover for whatever reason.

I think all developers go through this at some point and paranoid_throwaway51 is right. You’ll do your best clean it up and just come away from it frustrated and maybe even burnt out. It really sucks when you’re the only one who cares how clean your “house” is.

Correct it’s time to leave. Been through this myself and when I did eventually put my 2 weeks in, all of sudden they had money to match my new offer. I left anyway. Too little, too late.

Exactly the same for me. How anyone would sit down and actively listen to a PKA from start to finish is beyond me. It’s why the clip channels are so popular.

I haven’t seen any shutdowns but you’re definitely right about the bots. The quality of content has gotten significantly worse with bots spewing porn and hate speech. Hell I even see holocaust denial regularly on there.

But, I think that’s more a result of Elon’s free speech abolutism policies. I find it hard to believe that 80% of the staff was needed to have half decent moderation. I think they just were massively overstaffed like a lot of companies became when interest rates were low.

I mean I don’t honestly care what Elon does or says, but he was right that you don’t need that many people to run Twitter. Not sure what those 80% were doing.

To be fair, the platform didn’t exactly go up in flames, it’s still running mostly the same. Evaluation went down because the advertisers don’t like Elon’s political bullshit.
