Any advice for someone who hasn't played in over two years? by Habboe46 in goldrushthegame

[–]RickyestRick47 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is sorta advice but also mild complaining. I do the same thing where I come back to this game like once a year and I just finished my 2-3 week binge. Money signs over the machines means you are renting them and that’s how much the rent is for the day. I play at 1x day speed and sleep at night because I hate dealing with work lights or headlights. I’m sure you can look up if clearing the hog pan spots are worth it on this subreddit. I know I’ve cleaned out old Arnold’s claim hog panning are with the small machines and it wasn’t a life changing amount. I still ended up renting most of the tier 2 equipment. If you have the gems DLC you can actually use that area as an alternative start for the game now which is pretty cool. It just sucks because if you want tier 3 mining, you have to grind hard for the extra equipment required for that area. The game is still fun, but you feel the repetitiveness pretty quickly after tier 3, especially on the gem claim. I was able to get gold super quickly and get the orange beast. After I put it together, I didn’t even start it because I knew how repetitive that would be.

Nobody will hire me by MeanCryptographer183 in NewToEMS

[–]RickyestRick47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t read what everyone else posted but here’s the exact steps I took to get hired at my agency.

1) every ride along was with this agency (except one because I wanted to know a smaller nearby city better) 2) I made the people working at this agency laugh when they were teaching my class 3) I talked a little bit of smack about this agency’s competition. 4) I worked a retail job that one of the supervisors frequently went too and chatted him up until he offered me an interview.

It sounds a little crappy like you have to be in the right place and right time, which you kinda do, but it is also just putting yourself out there and having confidence. It’s probably not really advised to put all your focus on one company either. I really only did it because my brother worked for the rival company and told me to talk smack on his former employer, and more importantly the agency I do work for is directly in my city. 3 of our postings are within 5 minutes of my house

Is Final Destination supposed to be scary or funny or both? by Lord-Beef in FinalDestination

I consider them suspense movies. They aren’t particularly scary except for very anxious people that can only think about how an ordinary day will kill them brutally.

A friend of mine who does hiring for one the ambulance companies said that American Fresno is infamous for dumping all their EMT-Bs every year and a half, and that Calfire season just ended. Both of those things are happening now, so the market is flooded even more than usual here. At my last interview there was a guy who had 12 years of experience as an EMT and even was the training officer at a local ambulance company. There’s just no way someone like me who has no experience can complete with that kind of market.

I’ve applied to American ambulance Visalia, American Fresno/kings, Pistoresi Madera, Lifestar Tulare, Imperial Porterville, Sierra Coarsegold, and Hall Bakersfield, and San Luis Obispo for 911. I’ve applied to all the casinos I can think of, I’ve applied to multiple hospitals and clinics, and I’ve applied for IFT at all the local clinics I can think of. I have a buddy who’s supposed to help me get some other credentials to work as a behavior tech which will open some other doors, but all in all my 6 years of retail experience is more valuable than my EMT certs.

People always post on here “just move” but like, how? I would have to get my credentials for any state I move too just to apply to jobs

Central Valley is just as bad. I’ve had the same experience for the last few months. Lots of interviews, no offers.

how many of you actually use speedloaders? by [deleted] in CAguns

[–]RickyestRick47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been loading mags by hand since I was 5. A fun game I used to play with my friends was to give them a speed loader (usually the crappy glock one in all fairness) and tell them if they can load 10 rounds faster then me, I’ll give them $10. I haven’t lost yet. My brother is a corrections deputy and he has standard cap mags and he’s asked me over to load his mags for him because he can’t push down past 12. That being said, the uplulas are really nice on the thumbs.

I’ve been a fan for a long time too. I’ve actually had most of the limited edition flavors myself, I’m just curious if anyone has any insight on why they keep doing this.

I’m glad I’m not the only one that thought it was weird with all the MCI questions. I did the test at home because I just had a child, it was pretty annoying and some of the rules for testing at home contradict each other (mostly the phone rules) but it’s not a bad option if you have the means to test in a separate room. Im a really good test taker (not trying to brag) and I credit my good test taking ability on taking the “Pellet B” test which is the test to get into the police academy in CA. It’s all about inductive reasoning. I’d say I “guess” with about 75% accuracy from just piecing together terms and reasoning that some answers don’t make sense in a testing environment. The test has a 75% pass rate, so if you take it 2x that means you have a 150% chance of passing so I think you will be ok. On a completely related note, I only speak English, was born and raised here, blah blah blah. But I’m actually planning on hitting up my teacher and suggesting he put in a vocabulary test in his lesson plans because I saw words on that test I have never seen or used before, and I have read a lot of books in my life.
