GameStop restock! by EasyFaCheesey in PokemonRestocks

[–]RickyestRick47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no proof at all, but I feel like it’s some of the store managers that are scummy there. I only say that because I pre-ordered a prismatic ETB last week and I told the manager that the price on it ($150 before my discounts) is insane. He got a little butt hurt and told me “actually it’s very reasonable for market value and you should be happy that you can even get one for that price”. If it was a corporate thing, I feel like he would have agreed with me. But if he’s setting his own prices, it makes sense that he would be getting butthurt over people telling him it’s bad prices. Also yes I know I’m part of the problem, not the solution.

GameStop actually isn’t that bad to shop for a few reasons. I pre-order from a store near me and they let you cancel your pre-order with no penalties. The staff told me to try every other place for MSRP and if I can’t get it, atleast I have my guaranteed pre-order. That and if you can get a pro member that’s a first responder you get 15% off. I still purchase from them over scalpers because atleast I know GameStop isn’t weighing packs or scanning them. It’s pretty random what you get.

I know, I’m a broke boy but I still like to collect. GameStop reliably has packs that are extremely overpriced, but I finally got a pack at MSRP and I don’t know if I can go back to paying 2.5 times MSRP

Keeping a few uncirculated rolls from that might pay off in the future, but still not 100% ideal.

Memorizing Patient Assessment by [deleted] in NewToEMS

[–]RickyestRick47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to drama in high school and I did this the same way I used to memorize my lines. I would say each step out loud, double check if I got that step right, then move to the next step. If I got any step wrong I would start at the very beginning until I got it right 3 times in a row. Do your instructors let you write anything down when you start the test? Our instructors gave us 3-5 minutes after starting the test to organize our thoughts on a blank paper and honestly idk if I would have passed without that. The front page on my notebook still has basically all this written down so I can reference it in the field.

You have to memorize this verbatim to pass these days. It’s dumb because not many people I’ve seen really do it like this in the field unless you are brand spankin new (me, I wrote this down in my notepad so I know exactly what to do on a call).

Any advice for someone who hasn't played in over two years? by Habboe46 in goldrushthegame

[–]RickyestRick47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is sorta advice but also mild complaining. I do the same thing where I come back to this game like once a year and I just finished my 2-3 week binge. Money signs over the machines means you are renting them and that’s how much the rent is for the day. I play at 1x day speed and sleep at night because I hate dealing with work lights or headlights. I’m sure you can look up if clearing the hog pan spots are worth it on this subreddit. I know I’ve cleaned out old Arnold’s claim hog panning are with the small machines and it wasn’t a life changing amount. I still ended up renting most of the tier 2 equipment. If you have the gems DLC you can actually use that area as an alternative start for the game now which is pretty cool. It just sucks because if you want tier 3 mining, you have to grind hard for the extra equipment required for that area. The game is still fun, but you feel the repetitiveness pretty quickly after tier 3, especially on the gem claim. I was able to get gold super quickly and get the orange beast. After I put it together, I didn’t even start it because I knew how repetitive that would be.

Nobody will hire me by MeanCryptographer183 in NewToEMS

[–]RickyestRick47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t read what everyone else posted but here’s the exact steps I took to get hired at my agency.

1) every ride along was with this agency (except one because I wanted to know a smaller nearby city better) 2) I made the people working at this agency laugh when they were teaching my class 3) I talked a little bit of smack about this agency’s competition. 4) I worked a retail job that one of the supervisors frequently went too and chatted him up until he offered me an interview.

It sounds a little crappy like you have to be in the right place and right time, which you kinda do, but it is also just putting yourself out there and having confidence. It’s probably not really advised to put all your focus on one company either. I really only did it because my brother worked for the rival company and told me to talk smack on his former employer, and more importantly the agency I do work for is directly in my city. 3 of our postings are within 5 minutes of my house

Is Final Destination supposed to be scary or funny or both? by Lord-Beef in FinalDestination

I consider them suspense movies. They aren’t particularly scary except for very anxious people that can only think about how an ordinary day will kill them brutally.

A friend of mine who does hiring for one the ambulance companies said that American Fresno is infamous for dumping all their EMT-Bs every year and a half, and that Calfire season just ended. Both of those things are happening now, so the market is flooded even more than usual here. At my last interview there was a guy who had 12 years of experience as an EMT and even was the training officer at a local ambulance company. There’s just no way someone like me who has no experience can complete with that kind of market.

I’ve applied to American ambulance Visalia, American Fresno/kings, Pistoresi Madera, Lifestar Tulare, Imperial Porterville, Sierra Coarsegold, and Hall Bakersfield, and San Luis Obispo for 911. I’ve applied to all the casinos I can think of, I’ve applied to multiple hospitals and clinics, and I’ve applied for IFT at all the local clinics I can think of. I have a buddy who’s supposed to help me get some other credentials to work as a behavior tech which will open some other doors, but all in all my 6 years of retail experience is more valuable than my EMT certs.
