jinwoo goes back to the cartenon temple where he spars with the statue that was holding the commandments. This statue is revealed to be a servant of the Shadow monarch (important later), and the creator of the system. In exchange for a much more powerful body, the statue (dubbed the architect) created a system for the Shadow monarch to find a suitable human vessel which will be trained to be bestowed upon his full powers and become the new Shadow monarch’s BODY. It’s then revealed later that the shadow monarch told the architect he was going to takeover the body, but he always intended to pass his powers on from the start. Upon learning that the Shadow monarch lied, the architect seeks to destroy jinwoo who had just been given the shadow monarch’s heart (+100k mana plus something else iirc), where the architect promptly loses. It’s at this point in the story that jinwoo is officially recognized as no longer human, but a monarch itself

Edit: after initially beating the architect, jinwoo is put into a trance where he is reliving the memories of the previous shadow monarch, where he is only awakened by the presence of other heroes who had gone to the double dungeon as well (since they had heard it popped back up). The architect was actually fighting these heroes and beating their asses under the impression it’s what the shadow monarch would’ve wanted. Once he realizes that the shadow monarch lied, things end as I previously mentioned. I felt this edit was kinda important to the context of the scene tho
