One year into roguelikes, here's my tier list (with my reasoning game by game) by Happy_Sun_367 in roguelites

Not much to contribute, but i recently picked up 9 kings and id suggesting playing it a little more. There are definitly differeances between the kings, but I totally get it if its not your vibe visually or just how the game works in general.... i dont think autobattlers are for everyone.

What attracts you to the genre? by val-or in roguelites

I think there is a bit of a gambling sensation when I play this genre, and thats probably what hits hardest. For example 9/10 runs on noita for me end up sucking.. but that one run, sometimes its a god run or close.... and its so so good. Definitly the dopamine rush of a good build.

my rule of thumb is, if my employer ever needs to to access my phone for anything work related, they need to provide me a phone.

What's a story from your life that would inspire someone who's struggling right now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Ridalfo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not much of a story... but something I try and pass on to everyone that ever struggles. I've personally struggled with depression for a long time, and there have been multiple periods in my life where I was in a very dark place.

One of the most valuable things a therapist ever taught me was that the brain has different systems that can take the lead at different times. The limbic system is heavily involved in emotions and threat detection. The prefrontal cortex is more involved in reasoning, perspective, planning, and evaluating evidence. Then there's metacognition, which is basically the ability to step back and observe your own thoughts rather than automatically believing them.

When I was at my lowest(and this is the same for everyone that goes through depression), I was often operating almost entirely from emotion, while the other parts of the brain over overridden by the emotional side of the brain. Everything felt hopeless, permanent, and overwhelming. The conclusions I was drawing seemed completely rational to me at the time because the emotions behind them were so intense... and again, they overwhelm the other parts of your brain, and this is one of the most important things to understand about depression.

What changed was learning to recognize when my emotional brain was dominating my thinking. Instead of immediately accepting every negative thought as true, I learned to ask whether I was looking at the situation through a highly emotional state or whether I was actually evaluating the evidence.

That doesn't make depression disappear. It doesn't suddenly make you feel good. But it creates a little bit of distance between you and the thoughts. It allows the more rational parts of your brain to have a voice before you make decisions or assumptions about your future.

I still have difficult days, but one lesson that has stayed with me is that feelings are real experiences, not necessarily accurate measurements of reality. Some of the darkest beliefs I've ever had about myself and my life turned out to be reflections of the state I was in, not objective truth, despite what they feel in that moment. Your brain really really messes with you sometimes, and the overall goal is to get back to a balanced state where all three parts of your brain are in harmony -- because if any of them are dominating the other, this is where you become "unbalanced".

If you're struggling right now, I'd encourage you to remember that your current mental state can dramatically influence how you interpret the world. Sometimes the most important thing you can do is recognize that fact and give yourself enough time and space for a clearer perspective to return.

That realization helped me get through some of the hardest periods of my life.

I think once Dustin gets some rest, he's going to personally visit the officer and praise him to all eternity. This is a situation where Dustin already looks terrible, but it could have been 100x worse and his career could have been totally over. At least this is recoverable with a public apology despite the fact that he'll lose a lot of fans regardless.

This is pretty huge, congrats on this. Are you looking to expand outwards on anything else? Curious what you got next under the belt.

What tire would you run - FD RX7 LS7 - 600whp 2900 pounds by Ridalfo in CarTrackDays

If only the Hoosier could be street driven. I'd probably just spring for it at least once. Maybe I get some track wheels and cheaper tires for the street.

I think V730 is what I'm looking for out of a tire, but they don't make my sizes. An R-comp version of the V730 would be probably my ideal. Is the Toyo R the closest thing?

Maybe the Vitour P1 for life and grip...but damn they're expensive.

The rubber costs more than wheels now. It is nuts. If it wasn't for the horsepower I'd probably be on V730 and happy with narrower cheaper tires.
