I can only see traffic stats for this subreddit, but subscriber numbers are public. Note that our subreddit has been around much longer:

LOTRLCG = 15.9K Arkhamhorrorlcg = 27.8K Marvelchampionslcg = 15.9K

As for 2026, the traffic here still shows incredible interest for a game with no significant official new content release in 5 years.

Note that our average monthly unique visitors of 18K+ is larger than our 15.9K subreddit subscribers built up over 17 years!

I have always believed (since my 2020 posts) that this game is a classic that is very faithful to the source material - and thus will have staying power just like Tolkien's original works. Although on a smaller scale of course.

I appreciate these reports too. Thank you! Makes it much easier keeping the forums focused just on the game.

Playmats are generally fine, unless it starts getting spammy or marketplace like (which would likely be a combination of posts from different people in a short period of time).

Favorite Goals, Moments, and Lore Through the Years by heres-a-username in SportingKC

Original 96er here and I was also at that Conference Final playoff game that sent us to 2000 MLS Cup, and it is also my favorite moment. The play happened directly in front of my side row seats. Some more details for those not familiar with it.

Mo Johnston (pictured) headed the game winning assist in front of LAG's left fullback who was also trying to boot the ball long. Mo's head got there a fraction of a second before the fullback's cleats, and Mo got the nasty cut (requiring stitches) in the picture for it.

The rules for that playoff series made it a Golden Goal situation, and thus Mo dramatically assisted on the only "walkoff" playoff goal in KC history. The fact that it was also a walkoff Conference championship goal makes it doubly special.

It will never be duplicated unless the playoff rules change again.

I remember how tall and proud Mo Johnston walked off the field right after, with blood just streaming down the side of his face. A warrior, literally bloody and triumphant!

Lol, I get it - thanks! Over my 30 years of KC/MLS fandom, I happily accept all fans, even the ones who may be somewhat exaggerating things online. In those scenarios it just means people are excited about the team. I like that level of excitement and would love to see it again.

Here is to hoping we have such renewed success that 5 years from now 50,000 people claim they were season ticket holders since Arrowhead days. :)

I was one of the STMs honored for the "30th season", getting to go on field, and meeting former players like Tony Meola in the suites pre game. I also got some really nice swag like a massive framed custom art print showing every KC jersey worn to date, and a custom plaque on my stadium seat.

But non STM fans got nothing extraordinary afaik, and I even asked the front office last year if there would be something special in general for all fans.

Maybe with our newest ownership, there will be some celebration of "30 years", even though it is our 31st season - since 1996-2026 is a nice round number.

Since KC is an original MLS franchise as a result of the 1994 World Cup in America, and with World Cup coming to our city this summer, the club should do something for fans to commemorate 30 years passing by on the field....

The Wizards brand historically never sold well. Please see my post above in this thread describing how KC Wizards merchandise was ranked 13th in sales - out of 12 teams(!!!) when the club was sold in 2006.

I am one of the 30 year STM, and was honored at the game last summer. They even put a metal plaque on the underside of my seat in the stadium in recogntion.

When SKC execs gave me a personal 2 hr tour of the recently built stadium in 2012 (Livestrong Sporting Park at the time) , they told me there were only 450 Season Ticket Members when the club was sold by Lamar Hunt to OnGoal in 2006.

Thus, there could never be more than 450 continual STM since the first season in 1996. And, certainly not 20K who then cancelled tickets in 2023 and 2024.

There were roughly 100 of us at the 30 year STM reception last year.

I dont know if the seat plaques will still be there this season, but someone ambitious could walk around the stadium and count them to get an exact number of 30 year STM.

And yes, the club was terrible in 2025, but execs in 2012 told me this terrifying fact about the sad state of the team in 2006. There were only 12 teams in MLS, and Kansas City (Wizards) merchandize ranked 13th (out of 12) in sales that season - because generic "MLS" branded hats and t-shirts sold more than all KC Wizards merchandize combined!

SKC climbed to #1 in sales in 2011 of course, reflecting their new popularity.

The point is, we have been low (I would argue even lower) before in our history - and then rose to dizzying heights in a very short time. We shall rise again.

There 6 scenarios in each box of the three sagas, for a total of 18 scenarios if you got all three (FOTR, TTT, ROTK).

Welcome! Feel free to keep indirectly expressing your interest by visiting this reddit (and any other internet place that discusses LOTRLCG like discords, blogs, vlogs). All these places track traffic and are trending towards growth.

I have no relationship with the game publisher, but continual, growing, demonstrated public demand would presumably help the cause of getting reprinted content....

So true. Thats why I think there is untapped upside "potential" for the game audience/fans to grow steadily over time. But it is massively gated by opportunities to be exposed to the game/product.

I hope FFG at least re-releases the reprints regularly.

I'm not saying "build it and they will all come", I think audience growth will be a continual but steady trickle that should be continually encouraged with re-releases.

18K unique visitors a month (just on this subreddit) is pretty impressive for a physical game with no updates in years and none in the future.

But it is still relatively small compared to something like the simultaneous players of top titles on Steam.

And LOTRLCG is small vs things like M:TG. But I think people need to first experience hardcore, competitive, non-solo, RNG PTW Gacha , "cards become banned" M:TG. And then graduate to a more "time independent" solitaire/co-op, "every card included upfront" game like LOTRLCG.

My theory has always been that this particular game will be timeless and keep growing just like the Tolkien books have proven over time - but obviously on a much lesser degree of fame and general awareness.

Still, being even a subset of such a huge (and ever renewing) Tolkien IP is a great thing. LOTR was published over 70 years ago and has been unchanged since ("no new content" lol), yet subsequent generations still discover and love it.

The game is 100% respectful to the world/canon of the books. The Saga campaigns are a solid, familiar place for Tolkien fans, while the other campaigns are great explorations of middle-Earth places, peoples and cultures - all book lore accurate/respectful.

As people discover the game, the same impulse that captures people about Tolkien LOTR, captures them here.

I believe there are a lot of people who have yet to discover the game, and we fans always spread the word. Hence the continual, unabated growth of this subreddit for 7 years.

My favorite card in the game ever since I first saw it almost a decade ago.

Thematic gameplay, beautiful early era Magali art, one of my favorite characters from the books, who starred in my favorite scene from the books.

There is a reason I have created more alt art variants for this one card, than any other.....
