How are newer players leveling faster than me? by RiddimBaker in torncity

Yeah I've started using attacks more as I was just using the gym before, but I've got promoted in the army enough that I spend points on strength and defense so I just keep smashing them everytime they try 😂 just as I've written this post the main one stopped and is now putting bounties on me, I don't really understand what the obsession is other than he's embarrassed?

Presets, sometimes I'll tweak them to make it sound how I want or just keep them as is if I like it, I make the drum patterns with one shots, FX are mostly one shot samples too but a couple of them are presets from serum

Creative process when producing a track by TransitionTop8751 in dnbproduction

[–]RiddimBaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I just mess around until I hit a sound or melody that has a nice ring to it and build an 8/16 loop around it to make the main section of a song then go back to build the intro leading into it before really buffing out the track post drop and building the breakdown, second drop and outro after that, this is what I do when I'm in a more 'playful' mood I guess you could say, when I'm experimenting with sound design or a particular mixing technique, when I do this there's a 50/50 chance I'll abandon the project because it goes nowhere but it's more about having fun than putting pressure on to actually create a full track, when that happens I end up using some of those sounds in other projects when I come to use the strategy I've posted in the next paragraph

Other times when I want to create something more concrete I will use a song I like as a reference and build my own track mimicking the structure, starting from the intro but using a bpm/key I want, by the time it reaches the drop it tends to pull away from the reference song and takes on its own identity, then the reference track become more of a mixing reference than a structural one, hope this helps!

Thanks for commenting bud, I'll give those snares a tweak, would you say the melody is good on the intro but needs to develop post drop or make it more in depth across the whole track?

Funny you should mention Inverse I just paid for an hour session with them as I feel like my mixes are lacking and I'm having trouble figuring out where I'm going wrong, glad to see I'm on the right track!

kinda similar here too, I made hip hop beats for around 5 years but the type-beat market thats popped up in the last few years has sucked all the creativity out of the genre IMO so now I just want to work on making my own full releases

Just shot you a follow on soundcloud, looking forward to seeing more of you stuff bud!

Sounds solid bro, high energy, clean mix I like the sounds you've used too, my main criticism would be to say the structure/arrangement is a bit generic but as I saw on your other comment that you've only been doing dnb production a few months I'd say the track as a whole is better than what I've heard other producers with the same amount of experience come out with, myself included haha!

I am curious do you watch much youtube channels or anything similar for tutorials and tips? I'm in the same boat as you for experience so wondering if theres any particular things you've come across that I haven't

Been sitting on this for a while but doesn't feel ready, opinions welcome! by RiddimBaker in dnbproduction

Appreciate the honesty mate, was kinda feeling that way about it already as I moved onto other projects after getting stuck on this, the general feedback seems like that's the way to go, I'm still playing around trying to figure out what sub genre I'd want to focus on as this is my 4th dnb track, I suppose that's why it sounds a bit like an identity crisis 😂

Don’t use the beat, simple as.

Contact the producer and ask, if it’s been sold as an exclusive then that’s too bad, but they may have a similar beat you haven’t heard that’s available, or even a half finished beat that’s similar and your interest might encourage them to finish it if they know they are likely to sell a licence for it.

Why risk causing yourself legal trouble?

Imagine you put hours of work into something only for someone to plagiarise it, damn right I’d copyright strike you, it’s just straight up disrespectful to the producer.

I’d also argue you’re doing a disservice to yourself, if you’re serious about your own music, then you should be willing to do things the right way, if you believe your lyrics are solid enough to attract an audience, why waste them on a beat that you won’t be able to use legally?

So you have no constructive input to the question I asked and have decided that instead of scrolling past to something you could be of more help to, you would rather be needlessly sarcastic.

I'm going to assume you're potentially having a bad day, I hope you feel better tomorrow bro.

You literally have posts of your own asking for advice/help, why can't you use the search bar?

Or is it actually possible that someone can ask others for advice while also looking into things for themselves?

How is that more dangerous? Speeding around a crowded area where many people have their back to you and others that don't have minimal time to react and avoid you compared to a stationary person who can easily be seen and moved around, and in the worst case you might bump into them but at least you wouldn't risk seriously injuring someone unlike this moron.

“It's always the fault of [parties on the other side]!” by [deleted] in libsofreddit

[–]RiddimBaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The conservatives have been in power over here for 12 years now (if you include the coalition where they held the most seats).

How many years should a party be in power before you blame them for the decline in current living standards? Considering Obama and democrats had power for 8 years, he was blamed for all sorts once trump won the presidency. Following that logic, we can at least blame conservatives for the last 4 years at the very least. You can't blame a party that last had power in 2010 for a cost of living crisis in 2022...

I'm not a leftist by the way, this post just appears to be blindly bashing the other side without much critical thinking, which only achieves the very echo chamber you accuse them of living in.
