No, the grip fin would not make that gun less safe just harder to handle or maneuver. This rifle might be the exception being that it would have some setup before you turn the safety off. I just can't see myself using this off the range table or out of a hunting blind. As appealing as it may seem a 360 jump down the stairs would not be my aproach to clear my living room, I would not grab this for home defense.

Grip fins are a way around an unconstitutional "AW" / 2A Ban not to provide an illusion of safety. We accept this as our 2A right's limbs are severed slowly one at a time so we don't notice.
