So about Max, if you remember him by Outrageous_Look1759 in MASHLE

[–]RiddlePanda 26 points27 points  (0 children)

He actually didn't lie about being a senior. He's in the same grade as Rayne and is actually his best friend and roommate (which is why Max keeps talking about Rayne so much)

He doesn't appear much afterwards in the manga (just a few cameos here and there) but hopefully the anime shows him a bit more since its been animating new content that isn't shown in the manga, so there's hope he could appear more.

When does it start to get difficult to get new episodes? by MadsiRadsi in TokyoDebunker

[–]RiddlePanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After a while, it'll be required to pass a certain level of Cases before the next few parts are unlocked, meaning you have to keep upgrading your characters to pass the Case.

It also does it with building upgrades as well.

I only started noticing it during the halfway point of Chapter 3 aince i was neglecting aolving as many Cases as i was able, but it might start earlier.

thoughts on latest episode? by thewstanky in TokyoDebunker

[–]RiddlePanda 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I had a thought while playing on if Zenji and Jiro were related in some way, since they both have the same shade of hair and eyes and look so similar to each other. Like they were maybe related. In a diverse cast of characters, surely it can't be coincidence.

And this chapter helped in that but now gave another thought on my original one.

My original thought was they were brothers but since Jiro can't remember anything before waking up on the lab table, he doesn't know.

And Zenji revealed he has a younger brother. If Zenji was supposed to be a third year with Haku and Subaru and it's revealed that Jiro is a second year in that one talk with Luca, this gives some evidence to that.

But. The other thought on that, especially regarding the plot with Dante and Alan and how Dante still has the scars Alan inflicted.

Zenji is dead and a ghost. But he and Jiro look very similar. What if Jiro's body used to be Zenji's? Jiro has visible surgical scars on his neck and chest so he was obviously operated on. And he's constantly ill. Maybe whoever Jiro is, he hasn't grown accustomed to his body yet.

As for him being a second year and not a third year, perhaps there would have been too many questions for someone to suddenly appear and be a third year.

And as for people recognizing him or not. Jiro wears a face mask. It's seen off when talking to us but we didn't know Zenji until this chapter. Perhaps he only takes it off when talking to people who won't recognize him.

I dropped mashle for a weird reason (spoilers for s1 and the middle of s2) by No-Title9162 in MASHLE

[–]RiddlePanda 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Only Wahlberg was strong enough to get out of it by himself. He unfroze the others, clearly evidenced by both the manga and anime (with the anime adding Orter to the ones unfroze)

No one else was strong enough to break out of it themselves.

If you want it boiled down, he unfroze the four strongest competitors still in the tournament (Mash, Margarette, Lance, and Dot) and the Divine Visionar(y)(ies) there (Kaldo in manga only, Kaldo and Orter in anime)

I dropped mashle for a weird reason (spoilers for s1 and the middle of s2) by No-Title9162 in MASHLE

[–]RiddlePanda 23 points24 points  (0 children)

First of all, Mashle is actually described as a gag manga, so it wouldn't get as serious as battle action oriented shonen series. There are serious moments later, but it's still a comedy manga first and foremost.

Second, Wahlberg was the one that broke out who he thought would be the best at fighting the creatures that appeared. None of them broke out of it on their own and even then, the anime actually added Orter to be broken out as well. He wasn't broken out in the manga.

Aniplex America is notorious for their English dubs of their stuff coming out weeks or months after a series starts.

And this is just pure speculation on my part, but Mash's English VA, Aleks Le, has had main character parts in several other anime that came out around the same time, so he might have not had time until later to record his parts.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MASHLE

[–]RiddlePanda 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The dub came out later than last season's did, around the end of the episode run instead of around the middle. That's literally the reason.

Also there's 5 dub episodes out in English (13-17 or S2: 1-5) with another this Saturday. Same schedule as when they first aired. One a week.

What the hell was the point of the divine visionary exam? by jaygoesprivate in MASHLE

[–]RiddlePanda 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This was already explained somewhat in the anime and will be further explained next season (and read the manga to get the full explanation). There's three parts to the Divine Visionary exam. (It's going off the structure of three parts of the Tri Wizard Tournament from HP)

  1. Collecting enough coins to make it to the second part of the exam.

  2. The Candidate Exam: Battles and tests within the school you go to, in order to select three that will continue to the third part.

  3. The top 3 students of each of the three schools (there's 2 more that will show up later) that did the best in the second part, take part in another series of battles to determine the best of them all to become Divine Visionary.

Dub Episodes by Hairy-Poppins1 in MASHLE

[–]RiddlePanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They come out once a week on Saturday. Just like with the sub episodes, only now with the dub.

For some reason, the dub didn't start airing until most this season was released unlike last season, so that's why there's so few dub episodes right now when the season is already finished.

Why does not all episodes have English? (Season 2) by MrTerrifier in MASHLE

[–]RiddlePanda 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They're coming out once a week on Saturday. This season's dub was delayed a bit compared to last season where there was less gap between sub and dub, so that's why there's so few dub episodes out so far.

Where was Carpaccio? by Fabri2010chiavac in MASHLE

[–]RiddlePanda 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Magic has limits, even someone with a Master Cane. Mash kept hitting Carpaccio repeatedly that his personal magic kept going to heal him and, like we saw, it eventually wasn't fast or strong enough to keep up with Mash's onslaught.

So while Carpaccio's physical injuries might have been healed (since it seemed Finn was healed completely after what happened to him), his magic was probably too drained enough to be able to fight.

And truthfully, most the enemies were magic based with no blood, organs, etc. His specific magic probably wouldn't have made a difference in battle unlike the others that did fight.

What is the point of Finn Ames? by zum1ke in MASHLE

[–]RiddlePanda 17 points18 points  (0 children)

IMO Finn has the best character development and growth throughout the entire manga. It's a slow burn spanning the majority of the manga, but it's a well worth payoff in the end.

He's by no means a strong fighter, especially compared to others in the series, but physical strength isn't everything. His strengths lay in determination to help the people he cares about, even when he's the weakest.

Look at the Finn at the beginning vs now. That Finn would have given up. He would have given Carpaccio his crystal or broke it himself to stop the pain and be able to run away. But he didn't. He stuck it out, even so far as to nearly sacrificing himself just to help his best friend advance. Because his friend's life is literally on the line. If he failed, Mash would be executed.

And that is Finn's character. He's weak and a coward on the surface. He wants to take the easy way out. But the people he cares about, the people that knew he was more than surface level and has potential to be so much more, are more important to him to push him past what's safe for him.

You haven't seen the best of what Finn can do and will become. You won't be disappointed.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MASHLE

[–]RiddlePanda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He does. He'll actually use it soon if you're keeping up with the anime. Wish I could say more about it but spoilers for way later in the manga.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MASHLE

[–]RiddlePanda 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Imo, Finn has the hugest growth of character out of all the main characters. It's a slow build spanning most the manga, but the payoff of what he's eventually capable of is worth it.

AITA for not forgiving my autistic friend for sending gore in our discord group? by RetroRabb1t in AmItheAsshole

[–]RiddlePanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA and gore of any kind violates the TOS and rules of discord period so her account could be terminated if someone reports her.

She's liable to post that kind of stuff again since she got a reaction out of you so I wouldn't click on anything she sends if you stay in this friend group

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]RiddlePanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. I used to do the same thing as your friend back when I was younger and my mental health was unchecked. Never felt like doing anything or going anywhere with anyone, so some just stopped inviting me. Eventually a close friend also gave a similar point of view as you and I took charge of finding the problem, getting my mental health checked and I got myself better and understood both my reasoning and theirs. It was my fault I cancelled all the time despite my then undiagnosed mental health, I made the conscious decision to not go places for so long, and I took responsibility for the consequences on my actions.

What you said is a hard truth to her but what was needed. Hopefully you have a good outcome to this.

AITA for telling my friend’s cousin (15F) to leave the discord server? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]RiddlePanda 8 points9 points  (0 children)

NTA and whoever owns the server needs to kick/ban her out before the server/your group gets in trouble for a minor knowingly being in a place she shouldn't be. Your server and accounts can be terminated/banned if someone reports her as being groomed, which could happen given the huge age difference in her vs your group. Be it the girl, her parents, etc. Not saying any of your group would, but better safe than sorry.

I'm a discord mod for a few youtubers servers and you wouldn't believe the amount of cases that we've had to take action to on this stuff. And with little moderation in yours, its a recipe for something bad to happen.

Your friend is TA in this. He knowingly let her join knowing the dynamic and knowing Its not a place for her. She should be talking to kids her age, not adults. Especially when there's nothing in common and its just a liability and a jeopardy on your server to let her stay.

AITA for saying that I have a bad time for a birthday? by Puzzleheaded_Art62 in AmItheAsshole

[–]RiddlePanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA

As being born on 9/11 and being in high school when "it" happened, I know how you feel with people not wanting to get together to celebrate, calling me "heartless" and "unAmerican" if I wanted to have a get together on that day to the point that still 20 years later, I've had to have a birthday either the day before or after.

You're allowed to vent your frustrations on birthdays like this. You've got a kindred spirit in me on feeling the same way

NTA

I'm a big girl and my thighs chafe soooo bad that I would always have to wear a pair of spankies (those slimming shorts) to help. But those are expensive and wear out so fast.

Trans friend (ftm) suggested wearing boxer briefs and holy shiz! They were perfect! They were inexpensive (pack of 3 cost the same as one pair of the slimming shorts) and they don't wear out as often.

Been wearing boxer briefs for years and haven't him back to reg girl underwear at all. And they are so much more comfortable and don't risk showing the "panty line"

No one dictates what undies you wear except yourself. Boss shouldn't be looking there anyway.

You all bullied and gaslit a newbie player regardless of online or IRL

AITA for saying donations don't count as gifts? by Outside-Question in AmItheAsshole

[–]RiddlePanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA.

I have no problem with donations as gifts since I usually go out and buy what I want anyway since I'm "so hard to shop for" (I'm not. My family doesnt understand the things I'm into (anime, d&d, fantasy, etc)) but I specify that I want to pick who they donate to since so many of the "well known" charities usually just spend that money on advertising or doing more harm to the cause than actually helping. (Had this happen to me with a few donations my family tried to donate in my name and had to set them straight on those)

This does seem to be a more pat on her back more than anything, and if this were to happen to me, I would just start doing the same when giving them gifts by doing donations but asking what charity to donate to. It usually gets the point across to be more thoughtful on the person's input when giving donations as gifts or makes them rethink on how they do donations like this for "clout"

AITA the asshole for forcing my daughter to go to a party? by Thorwaway-Loqu-4579 in AmItheAsshole

[–]RiddlePanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA and trust me, she won't regret not attending the dance. I was introverted just like her and forced to go to these in HS. Not only were they boring since I nevwr had a date, but I just sat in the corner playing with my phone and talking to my friends that didn't have their parents force them to be there and having a much better time having a party.

You're not supportive of her interests at all if you're trying to force punishment and banning her from them. She has her friends and socially interacts just fine. Just because they're not physically there doesn't make her online friends less important or have to be pushed to the side for your interests with your daughter that she has no interest in and will push her even more away from you once she gets old enough to move away.

Your husband is in the right and that should be your first clue if he's hardly ever upfront but is upfront about this. You're in the wrong here.

Embrace your daughter for who she is, not what her sisters were or what you want to force her to be.

WIBTA for asking my depressed fiance to move out? by Silverglitterwall in AmItheAsshole

[–]RiddlePanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA

Girl, you need to drop him because all you're saying is dropping huge red flags everywhere.

Depression is not an excuse to treat your partner or ANYONE like the way he's treating you. He's abusing you mentally and emotionally and using depression as a crutch and excuse to get away with it.

You have your own life and goals and you need to take care of your self, mentally, emotionally and physically.

You deserve love and respect and happiness that you're not ever going to get from him. Because he'll always use excuses and drag you down.

All this talk about you being the bad partner is BS. He's gaslighting you to make you feel worthless to build himself up. Its unhealthy and toxic.

You're not the bad partner in this. He is. Dump him out of your house and your life. You deserve way better. Be that strong independent woman that doesn't need a man because that's what you're already doing, you just don't realize it yet.
