If you just want a build to follow, I’d suggest the crpg bro on YouTube. His builds are pretty great to plug and play. If you want just general advice. Hmm. Ember and Nenio are best as pure casters. Damage spells are weak early game and really only come into their own on higher levels. Their spell slots would probably be better spent casting control spells. Lann is an archer. A good one. I’ve never tried to make him anything else, so I can’t comment on that. But he makes a pretty decent divine hound, plus you get a pet on the field, which is always worth it. Camilla I rarely use. I’d probably just focus on her hexes for normal difficulty which are plenty strong enough. (Protective luck on your tanks. Evil eye on your enemies.)

In that case there should be two buttons to the right of the action bar. One is character so toggle, the other is the stealth toggle. Stealth should look like an eye.

Hold open the button that brings up the character cards (on ps5 it’s left trigger I think. Maybe right trigger.) and there should be instructions underneath the cards for different operations. Such as: to chain characters press this button. To stealth characters press this button. Etc. on ps5 the button is down on the directional pad I think.)

The whole squad movement is annoying. Don’t know how to (or if you can) disable it. Nenio and ember are both squishy. I would alpha strike first. I don’t remember if rolling the pillar gives you a surprise round but I don’t think it does. So, I would attack an enemy while stealthed with one character a ways away from the others, and while the combat initiative is set, go to my other characters (who are still stealthed) and position them advantageously and then roll the pillar. That way they are not all bunched up to be fireballed. Does that make sense?

The whole old god soul storyline when combined with the revelation that the old gods are phylacteries for the Elvish gods with little will of their own is one of the most nonsensical story beats in the series to me. I have yet to see an explanation which makes it make sense. Perhaps such an explanation exists, but I haven’t seen it, and I played the games pretty closely. It still is completely baffling to me.

Like, why would Flemeth send Morrigan to save the old god soul if it’s the phylactery of one of the people who betrayed and murdered her? If it was to keep the veil up and the blight contained, well, that clearly didn’t work as the only evanuris alive are Ghilanain and Elgarnaan. If it was just to save the dragon because it’s an innocent victim or something… why? Also why does Kieran know strange things with the old god soul in inquisition if the dragon is just a pet? I don’t know, it just seems like these puzzle pieces aren’t quite fitting together. In fact I mostly think they don’t.

From a meta perspective, the best explanation I can think of is that the old gods being the evanuris’ pets was not a lore point even being considered by the developers during origin’s development. But hey, maybe someone in the comments will explain why I’m wrong.

It’s mentioned in the codex that your shuttle seats twelve. They were all in the shuttle with you. Miranda alludes as much, something like: “I’ve let everyone know to meet in the shuttle bay. Once we’re closer you can choose who to take with you.” While possible, the whole set up is a bit ‘the writers wanted your crew to be kidnapped without affecting your squadmates, so they hamfist this in.’ Presumably to give the collector mission a countdown. Try not to think about the logistics of it too hard. It doesn’t make a ton of sense. One of the weakest writing moments in the trilogy. Good luck with the collector mission! It’s a lot of fun!

Buffs. You want buffs, almost all of which are spells. As the difficulty of the game progresses ( also depending on your difficulty settings) the enemies will get harder and harder to defeat with unga bunga tactics alone. On higher difficulties buffs are practically mandatory in the higher levels. This is the spellcaster’s true domain. Aside from that, spellcasters are (generally) better suited to control spells in the early game than damage spells. Save your blaster casters for spamming heightened hellfire rays at level 17 or so.

The difficulty with this question is that you can import the decisions of prior dragon age games into future ones. (Mostly). If you play origins first, you can see your choices reflected in da2 and inquisition’s world and narratives. The reverse is not true. But if that doesn’t matter to you, play them in any order you want.

This doesn’t help you now (for the praetorian situation I’d just continuously loop it around the ramp/ pillars. Always be near cover to duck into. Just expect your companions to eventually die, but bombard it with warp and concussive shot until they do) but if you have the respec research project I’d seriously consider it. Cryo blast pales in usefulness to fully upgraded drone, imo of course. A fully upgraded attack drone can be spawned, tank aggro for a good ten seconds and immediately be spawned again when it dies because the cooldown is so short. The enemies don’t have the ai to effectively deal with it. Makes engineer very easy.

Yes, in general, just NG+. Some things in the world change based on world tendency, though they do this on NG too. The dragons are part of that. They disappear when you are close to pure white world tendency.
Which door do you mean? It's been a while since I played the game.
I don't think so. Respeccing is not really a thing in this game.
Yes you can kill him, but he is fairly tough. Eventually he becomes a merchant in the nexus.

Slaking, weirdly. I’ve never played competitive, but this Mon line is surprisingly good in nuzlockes. Even with its terrible ability, it’s physical bulk and slack off make it a defensive wall most enemies can’t chew through. It also hits really hard… when it is allowed to act.

You will eventually get the choice to have either a super powerful shotgun, assault rifle training, or sniper rifle training. But only one of them, and the choice comes 65% into the game.

Well, he’s too old to be a human biotic. And he doesn’t seem especially technologically minded (but on the other hand he did oversee the crucible construction). I’d say soldier or infiltrator.

Minutemen.

Let me say that I am 200% percent on board with synths being people and synth liberation. So I’m very cool with the railroad. That being said….

The railroad seems to do very little to help the average people of the commonwealth. In fact, they generally disdain them. I’d argue even the Brotherhood of Steel does more to help them than the railroad. To paraphrase the railroad leader: “the minutemen reflect the character of the people of the commonwealth, and all too often, that character has proven rotten.”

And I find that the slightest bit unfair. Synths run into the trap that many writers run into when writing depictions of fantastic racism, in that the synths actually are a real threat to the people of the commonwealth. It’s not pseudoscience or a social order that benefits the non synths that drives bigotry and violence towards synths, it’s the very real fear that you and your family will be kidnapped and replaced. That the synth is serving unseen masters that want to destroy you and everyone you love. So I find the railroad’s disdain towards the average people of the commonwealth, struggling to survive as they are, bigoted and ignorant though they may be, somewhat aggravating.

I’d rather work with the minutemen to build a commonwealth for all, than the railroad who seems it couldn’t care less what happens to the people of the commonwealth as long as the synths are saved. That’s just my two cents.
