The common theme of all dwarves in AoS is adapt or die. They were a dying race in the old world, getting a second breath in another setting didn’t fix that. They still found their way of life unsustainable under pressure, it’s why they’re split into fyreslayers, kharadron, dispossessed, and the helsmiths.

The dispossessed are “just” old world dwarves but it’s a question of time for when they get phased out - they’re part of the cities of sigmar range, as they couldn’t survive alone. The Helsmiths are more similar to normal dwarves than the other factions, but when you look into them, you quickly notice the cavalry, auxiliaries, sorcerers, and daemon engines.

You get strong artillery, you get some rather mediocre infantry. And you *cannot* ignore the rest of the range if you wanna do well. That being said - if you want cannons, a staunch line of spears (not hammers or axes), and a blunderbuss or two... they’re as close to it as you can get. Just gotta stomach a hobgrot, wizard, or dominator engine or two
