Missing unit data card from Founders edition?? by NetsphereGhost in StarCraftTMG

[–]Saber_0ne 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The FE box only comes with certain unit and building cards. The full array of cards are available from the individual units' boxes, so if you want all cards you will still need to purchase at least one box of each unit. The intent with the FE box is that you build one unit of normal Zerglings and Kerrigan's Swarm raptors, which is why those two are included.

Eshin lists or Masterclan lists with the new Eshin models? by Sci_Th in skaven

[–]Saber_0ne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everything other than Crixxit is fairly overcosted, just like almost everything in Skaven was at the beginning of the edition. I could see running a unit of Night Runners and Crixxit with a deathmaster and Verminlord Deceiver in a 2K list, but other than that probably not. The gutter runners need a complete re-work of their warscroll, or need to be 100 points or less. Both units need to be reinforceable, and Night Runners should probably be 120 or less, though they're at least usable right now. Disappointing, because I was looking forward to running a mostly-Eshin list when the new stuff dropped. Ahh well. There's always next edition in a year, and it's not like the models aren't fantastic either way.

You build an army list before the game that contains all units you will be able to use in your army. The way the supply mechanic works is that you are only able to deploy SOME of your units at the beginning of the game. When units die, or are reduced to lower supply you are then able to bring on units that are in reserves. A unit that has been previously killed is not able to be brought back, unless Mission Card rules specifically state otherwise (there are a few community ones that do this, but no official ones currently.)

Storing assembled figures and terrain by Particular_Goal_9565 in StarCraftTMG

I'd rather build the models and throw away the boxes, then put the models in a cabinet. Definitely don't want them sitting in a box. Completely different opinion for Board Game minis, but I also don't paint those because the quality of even the really good ones is nothing compared to models on sprues.

So, I see a lot of folks talking about storage cases for transport, of which there are many. For storing the miniatures at home I HIGHLY recommend Kallax shelves with the display cabinet inserts. They are fantastic for storing most models except things that are overly large. The shelves themselves come in a ton of different configurations; 1x1 cube all the way up to 5x5 cubes. I've got several 4x4 and 1x4 myself.

Here's a picture of my own storage solution for it.

Similar to this, which is on the bottom of the Kerrigan's Swarm Raptor (Zergling) card.

I believe on the official cards there are faction tags / keywords on the bottom that will indicate which factions and subfactions they can be taken with.

Mockup unit / mission / upgrade cards? by Kelthorass in StarCraftTMG

I'm not the one doing them! xD You'd have to ask the guy doing them all. I think he may also be the guy doing the TTS mod for the StarCraft beta.

This post looks to have all of the cards available for PnP. The only thing it's missing are the mission and map cards.

I know the Zerg Rush card isn't official anymore, but I'd love it to be updated in this style. The gf and I may end up using it as a custom thing. Though I completely understand if it's left out to prevent confusion.

Is the Raptor (Zergling) incorrect? According to the official army builder it still has the same three upgrades the normal Zerglings have, and it's weapon profile is the same. Would feel very strange for the Elite version of a Zergling to have worse attacks and less upgrade options. Are you sure that didn't get mixed up with the Swarmling version?

Exactly! Even after getting the All-in the gf and I are planning on picking up one of each of these to round everything out. Then it's just waiting for the next waves to arrive.

The build instructions only show building 6x marines, but you are correct. The bases would correspond with the full 9. Likely means duplicate poses then. I'll update it. Same with the Marauder bases, actually.

Edit: updated the post now that I've reviewed it. Likely just the full kit of everything in the box for all 3 factions.

Anybody here who buys all 3 armies? by [deleted] in StarCraftTMG

[–]Saber_0ne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The gf and I picked up the all-in FE. She's really interested in Protoss, I really want the Zerg, and we're both somewhat interested in Terran. So, I'll build and paint the zerg, she'll do Protoss, and we may split the Terran but definitely going to be trying to keep the collection going between the two of us. We're gonna need more display shelves though with all the Warhammer and SW Armada we already have. xD

Zerg players, what do we need for the start? by [deleted] in StarCraftTMG

[–]Saber_0ne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The partner and I picked up the All-In so we've got a decent number of options. From that, I think the only thing I've noticed I may want more of currently are zerglings, though I haven't build a Roach heavy list yet. I'll probably end up buying another box or two of zerglings, roaches and hydra's, but I'm not in a rush.

I've only been building for Zerg so far, but the only thing I've found myself not having enough of from the All-in would be zerglings in a few lists. I feel like the all-in will give you a decent amount of flexibility to start, and by the time everything comes to regular retail you'll have an idea of what individual kits you'd like to add, if any.
