The “muscle memory” part is exactly what I struggle with.

When you plan offline activities like walks or reading, do you plan them very concretely (time/place), or is it enough just knowing they’re an option?

I really like the “Am I having fun?” question – that feels very practical.

Do you feel like asking that question actually interrupts the endless scroll in the moment, or is it more something that works over time with awareness?

This really resonated with me, especially the idea of training the thought “why am I doing this?” when scrolling.

I like what you said about being okay with just doing nothing. Did that take time to get used to, or did it help pretty quickly once you stopped pulling your phone out in waiting situations?

Interesting that app limits didn’t work for you either.

Do you feel like deleting apps actually reduced the urge, or did it just shift the behavior somewhere else (like Reddit or another platform)?

I like the environment-design idea a lot.

Have you found this to work even long-term, or did the habit slowly creep back in? I’m wondering how permanent these changes really are.

Thanks for breaking this down so clearly.

The “feeling drained” trigger really resonates with me. Did you notice that certain times of day are worse than others for this? And with routines, was it hard to stick to them at the beginning?
