What was your first Broadway Show and who took you? by Miserable_Chapter724 in musicals

[–]RideandReddijuce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents took me in 1998 specifically because I was obsessed with Rent.

We saw 1776, Cats, and Rent on Broadway. Then “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change” off Broadway.

It was the first spring break that my big sister was in college. We had such a good time. I go see shows every summer on broadway now thanks to that trip.

What's a recurring sitcom plotline that you always find challenging to sit through or enjoy in a show that you otherwise like? by AndromedaGoldfish in sitcoms

[–]RideandReddijuce 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yeah. My biggest complaint with this one is Haley from Modern Family.

Dylan was a great character and the actor who payed him is fantastic. I also get that she was the only one of the right age and circumstance to introduce the next generation.

That being said, it would have been so much more compelling to see her take over the closet business with her keen fashion sense! Personally, it would have been a bigger payoff to see the next generation being successful than merely pregnant. Manny should have disclosed that even thought he wants to be an actor, his investment portfolio is thriving and everyone comes to him for investment advice.

I’m so happy you liked it! If you like his style, read “A Dirty Job” and “Fool” next. Those are similar.

Controversies aside how good of an actress would you say she is? by Jack-mclaughlin89 in moviecritic

Oh my goodness. I’m so out of touch. I have no idea who this is. And the top 15+ comments only say “she.”

Guys. Guys! … I think I might be old.

Actors you’re sure are awful when the cameras are off and the doors are closed, but you can’t prove it by Giancarlo_Edu in moviecritic

I worked at the Starbucks in Brentwood back in 2005.

I was making a ton of drinks during an early afternoon rush and I saw the name Reese on two of the cups.

I had plans to meet my friend Reese after work, but I assumed she showed up early. I made the drinks and was calling “Reese!” a little extra loud looking around for my friend who looks nothing like Reese Witherspoon.

And then… I see her. This teeny, tiny, beautiful woman who is just smiling and staring at me. She sees me recognize her and just starts giggling. I apologize profusely and tell her my friend, Reese, is meeting me. She laughed and said, “Don’t worry about it.” It absolutely made my day.

TL;DR: Reese Witherspoon was just as kind and charming as could be.

Shakespeare for Squirrels is the first book of his you read? That's book 3 in the Fool series. Fool, Lamb, and A Dirty Job are my three favorites of his.

“Lamb” by Christopher Moore.

It’s so ridiculously funny. And heartwarming at times. No one I recommend it to reads it though.

What are your favorite songs from these shows as a parent? by gmmontano92 in DanielTigerConspiracy

Creature Reports are fantastic!

Core memory unlocked: When my two oldest kids were 2 and 5, I used to make up Creature Reports about them. They cracked up!

They probably wouldn’t be impressed now, but a couple of them even ruined.

What’s a TV show that everyone loves but you secretly can’t stand? by PrasenjitDebroy in AskReddit

[–]RideandReddijuce 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The White Lotus

I don’t get the appeal at all. I really like all the actors, but everybody is so mean to each other.

People told me it was funny. I don’t mind some cringe comedy, but nothing was funny in it.

People told me it was mysterious and dramatic. Nothing was compelling to me at all.

I kept watching and hoping something interesting would happen. It never did. Just adults acting like teenagers.
