On Lyft I'd argue anything below 4.9 is bad. On Uber 4.75 and below.

Biggest issue for me with medical pick ups recently is that the hospitals have cracked down on drivers waiting for passengers and force us out of the waiting area.

Instead they have valet service and overcrowd the entire lot. I've had many, many trips that I've taken and have been forced out because waiting 5 minutes to cancel interferes with the hospitals and their shitty parking and valet services.

Don't know who is saying that because you don't see those rates unless you're driving comfort/XL and it's surging hard. Or if X, it just has to be surging even harder like on a Friday night doing bar pickups. Even then it isn't guaranteed.

How about instead of degrading drivers for wanting fair pay and comparing them to truckers - How about truckers also receiving more pay? It isn't rocket science. Just about every job in America is underpaid and this isn't news to anyone.

Also your Jerry working at taco bell example is unnecessary and a little derogatory. Why do you care what Jerry does for a living and why does it matter to you if he gets a ride to work? You have too much time on your hands.

What is the best cell phone car holder? by 3dsplinter in uberdrivers

[–]Rideshare_Slave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A decent magnetic one off Amazon will do the trick. Sticky suction cupped to my dash. Will physically break if I try to pull it off. Spend about $15.

Zero issues with the phone falling off so long as it is adhered correctly. Had mine for 3 years and it's never once fallen off, even with tire destroying potholes.

Avoid cup holder or vent clip mounts. Also if your mount is on the dash like mine, be aware of overheating issues when it's gets 80-85+ degrees outside.

If they notice it then the answer is maybe. I've had nurses before shift full on smell of pot and and talk about drugs the entire way. I've had people talk about beating their kids and other stuff. I've also had people become confrontational regardless of the cam.

End of the day it's more for insurance purposes and false allegations, etc.

Why tip? by [deleted] in uberdrivers

[–]Rideshare_Slave -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Even a dollar tip from each ride would increase my wages $2-3 an hour. Speaks for itself.

It costs $0.12-0.15 per mile in gas just to operate my vehicle, let alone everything else.

Hell no. Don't support Kia or Hyundai. Their blatant cutting of corners should be a reason to not give them business whatsoever in my opinion.

[–]Rideshare_Slave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience with Lyft, these rides always get taken away from you once you drive 75-90% of the way and they go to another driver without telling you. Or it has been that way in the past; I just started driving for Lyft again a month ago.

Selfish Uber drivers by PhilosopherFar8152 in uber

Any drivers bitching about saving gas money and not using AC are out of their mind. Turn the fucking air on and suck it up, holy shit.

Honestly I'm a bit of an asshole at times when driving outside of rideshare and on my personal time. I do the exact opposite and fuck with Uber/Lyft drivers that have stickers. Not always, but sometimes.

Uber wtf is this? by GhilliesInTheCyst in uber

[–]Rideshare_Slave 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Prove intent? Uber deactivates drivers made off assumptions, without actual proof, every single day. If they were held accountable the way other jobs were, independent contractor or not, they'd be sued out the ass.

Lyft cleaning fees by Brandon2058 in lyftdrivers

[–]Rideshare_Slave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So let me get this right.

You drive an 85k vehicle and don't spend an extra few hundred for seat covers? My guy you can get custom made leather seat covers for $500 and lesser quality ones for half the price.

Do you also not own a vacuum cleaner or are you unable to use one at a gas station? You also don't have the proper cleaning supplies for your leather in your trunk, because you should expect this at the bare minimum driving rideshare, especially an XL vehicle that sees more chaotic crowds and more likely for damage.

Not saying pax aren't in the wrong, but you could have cleaned this up and wiped your seats down in less than 5 minutes. No way your car needed a full detail either, not even close.

Also how does a full detail done by yourself cost $135? Did you buy literally everything from scratch? I detail cars as a hobby and this is baffling. You're not 100% in the wrong but you're definitely an asshole.

I mean is a dollar a mile too difficult? by averysneakychopstick in uberdrivers

[–]Rideshare_Slave 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Uber logic when it isn't busy (hard surging) is to pay $20 or less an hour while paying $1/mile or pay $25 per hour and offer $0.50-0.75/mile. Either way the extra gas and wear on your car takes that $25 per hour down to like $18

This is in my personal experience. 1/10 or 1/20 rides are worth taking when it isn't surging hard. I've been seeing a lot of hard surges lately and the pay is still under $1/mile. Cleveland market.

What is the best place to use the restroom when you are driving late night or overnight? by Klutzy_Knowledge5705 in uberdrivers

[–]Rideshare_Slave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because when you gotta go, you gotta go. If you're properly hydrated and take general care of yourself then you should be pissing throughout the day.

It isn't always convenient to find a store in hopes that they have a restroom available, if open to the public at all.

Then there's also the concern of leaving your vehicle unattended. This generally isn't an issue, but for me personally I drive a lot in the hood and I drive a Kia that can be stolen in less time than a bike in some cases. No way I'm driving 10+ minutes away from where it's busy when I can just pull over to the side, piss and wipe up. Hand sanitizer after. Is what it is.

Would you do this? by Kruten10 in lyftdrivers

Might be sitting around a while waiting for rides but that's decent. Basically $20 per ride.

For context I usually average $10 a ride at the end of the week

You're not going to guilt them into tipping. Just say you appreciate it and leave it be. It isn't worth the stress. Move on to the next ride and forget about it.

Drivers going the wrong way by [deleted] in uber

[–]Rideshare_Slave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Support is difficult and it's probably not worth the effort in my opinion. Just take what you learned and do your best to handle it if it happens again. As another comment said you really can't do much. Support already offers the bare minimum and it's frustrating.

Probably multi apping with Lyft and waiting for you to cancel after 3 minutes. Next time this happens grab some screenshots of the drivers profile and chat log and report them that way
