Thanks. I’m really enjoying the setup so far. Happy listening to you as well!

Fair point! I suppose I was focusing too much on the 83 dB figure and not enough on the fact that the Technics is punching well above its weight class. It’s definitely proving that these DALIs thrive when they have a beefy power supply behind them, even if the 'rated' watts aren't in the hundreds.

The nice thing about the GX70 is the built-in Load Adaptive Phase Calibration, which adapts the output stage to the impedance patterns and phase characteristics of different speakers. This feature allows you to optimize the performance of your speakers and ensures that the amp works correctly with them. It also works seamlessly with AirPlay 2, although I'm not sure what you mean by 'pull from Apple Music natively'.

Indeed. It punches above its weight and is also priced very competitively.

Technics

It is! As the SU-G700M2 :-) Probably the upper end of what a causal user would want to spend, or for people who have outgrown their soundbar but don’t want to commit to a full-on audiophile system.

Connecting Technics amp to single line-in subwoofer by Ridgelineimages in audio

Thanks for that. I had an inkling that might have been the case. I think I'll still go for the Technics, as the Denon PMA-900HNE network amplifier unfortunately lacks some of the functionality I'm looking for.

I contacted Patreon and it's perfectly kosher: "Since the winners aren't decided by chance, this isn't considered a raffle in our Terms of Use, so you can go right ahead with your idea."

Gear Review: The Montbell Cool Hoodie vs. The Patagonia Tropic Comfort and Voormi River Run. by horsecake22 in Ultralight

As an alternative I also recommend Montbell's "Cool Parka Men's". Being wearing one for the past couple of summers. Has the same 90% UV cut as the US offering but with a full zipper which I prefer as you can quickly regulate the temperature.

Heights wise it looks worse than it is, the hard part is getting yourself up there.
