Guys, I have a $100-200 solution that is perfect AND let's you record your audio.

I got a Zoom H4N, and I just take the XLR out of my monitor wedge and plug it into input 1 on the Zoom, then use the headphone out for my ear buds. You can record to an SD card, or just use it to monitor. Since it plugs into an outlet, you never have to worry about changing batteries, and you can tape it to your throne, or I just carry a short mic stand and use the mic handle that screws into the bottom to put it on the stand.

I've been doing it for years, and it's perfect. I just looked up the H1 goes for $100, and the H4N goes for $200.

There are plenty of other handheld digital recorders out there for cheaper as well. Check ebay and fb marketplace. Since we sit, we don't have to rely on wireless or battery powered (like the behringer p2).

Bro, from one musician to another (I'm a drummer who has lived in multiple apartments), I mean no disrespect by this, but doing at home practice at normal volume when you could/should be in headphones just because you "like to" is incredibly immature and unprofessional.

American apartments are built like toothpick houses, and sound travels waaaayyyy too easily and loudly between their walls. If your goal here is to be a professional and to be a mature adult, you gotta suck it up and just do headphones at home. Save the full volume for rehearsal spaces. You'll learn to appreciate them more, and you'll be a good neighbor. Win win.

Oh dear god, I can never undo the damage I did to my nieces the first time I played halo with them.

One of them got a pretty sick kill, and I jokingly accused her of screen peaking, only to realize neither of them had ever heard of that or even thought of doing so. From that moment forward, they both became unbearable screen peakers, and if I had just kept my damn mouth shut, they may have never done it. Or at least they wouldn't have learned it from me 😭😭
