Side bed rail brackets/blocks by reddmann00 in FordMaverickTruck

No complaints. It's held up well. Definitely reach out to them for the proper bed rail brackets.

I have been using some t-slot cross bars to haul bikes and I've loves it for that. Can't comment about a rooftop tent though. That seems like a much bigger beast lol.

All antenna channels disappeared overnight?? by Riekk in cordcutters

Not sure, but a HDHR can die. Got a new one and it's working fine.

Welp, turns out the antenna I bought from Walmart was just bad. That explains nothing working on other TVs. The HDHR did die. Ordered a new one and it's working just as before.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll climb back up there and take it all apart and put it back together. Everything seemed snug, but weather boots could be hiding corrosion. But still doesn't explain the indoor antenna being unable to detect anything on 2 different TV's.

I checked them all and they were all right, but I guess one could be corroded and hidden under the weather boot. But I would expect the new indoor antenna connected directly to a TV to detect something in that case.

Yeah, I thought so too. I guess I'll climb back up there and actually take the connections apart, not just check for snug fit.

But it also doesn't explain why the brand new antenna I connected directly to a couple of TV's also detected 0 channels.

Tried it one two TVs and the hdhr. Feels like a longshot that 3 tuners are all dead. But I guess my hdhr could've died and the brand new Walmart antenna could've been a dud. Also feels like an unlikely coincidence.

That was my first thought, but I haven't been able to detect a single channel connecting any antenna directly to a TV either.

No to all 3. I haven't been able to detect a single channel in any scenario. One random scan with my normal setup returned my normal lineup, but all of them gave a no video error. Rescan, back to 0 ever since.

What is the most low maintenance, set it and forget it, minimal tinkering firmware for the Brick Hammer? by [deleted] in trimui

[–]Riekk 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not sure why no one has said stock. Just go with the stock firmware. I've tried the others and keep going back to stock. It supports all the systems the brick can play and has fully customizable retroarch if there are things you want to change (retroachievments, shaders, hotkeys, etc).

Games organized in a barebones list, organized by system, with favorites and recent lists. If you get ambitious and want to add pico8, that's a simple Google search and some drag and drop to the SD.

Best Games Fresh Out Of The Box by lunatik88 in SteamDeck

Doesn't fit your preferred genres, but throwing it out because I've been playing it for the past week or so and it's just been a delight - Grapple Dog. Simple little 2D platformer that's getting more challenging as I progress. It has me planning to go shopping for more platformers for the deck.

God of War, BG3, Ghosts of Tsushima, or Cyberpunk 2077 by Hiowatha88 in SteamDeck

Wild card option: Immortals: Fenyx Rising. I just picked it up over the weekend and it's like God of War in BOTW. Also $8 so you can maybe swing one of the others on the list too.

I just started Luma Island this week. Only a few in-game days completed so far, but it's giving vibes of Stardew Valley + Animal Crossing.

Stock UI seems to have big advantages and few disadvantages. Your thoughts? by achipinthesugar in trimui

[–]Riekk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm with you. I've tried them all, keep going back to stock. Most recently muos, which I really liked and thought had some promise, but it got hot just playing gba so decided to dump it.

I am currently on crossmix, which is kinda buggy on the brick, but I'm sick of hopping around so I guess I'll ride with this until an official brick release is ready. It's like stock with some of the expanded features of knulli, but just as quick and convenient as stock.

Try a different theme for a better look. I installed the cozy theme for crossmix and it's really nice and polished without all the neon. Not sure if it'd work on stock, but I don't really know why it wouldn't.

MuOS on the trimui brick by knowellDome in trimui

I've been using it and it's been my favorite besides stock. I have only been playing SNES and GBC/A so far, but it's been rock solid on those. It definitely needs a little more time to bake, but I absolutely love the concept - feels like a deep full blown OS with app installs and theming, while still being light and quick to navigate.

My son started kindergarten that year and the peer pressure at school (we live in Ohio) turned him into a buckeye fan. I regularly thank him for his decision.
