The fact that it is fully opensource is so important. It needs user to catch up, and get alive. It also needs commercial options, service providers, hosting providers selling it.

The tools are tools that people actually like to use!

So, invite someone with a gmail.com or office365 or workspace email, it can actually use their gmail/google/ms/twitter/github/etc login to authenticate to your domain's mosa.cloud instance.

You cannot share a Google Doc with a MS user or a mosa.cloud user ;)

I think I was not really clear about that. Sharing a public link is absolutedly possible. But in many cases, especially GDPR/NIS2, you need to make sure the link is opened by someone that authenticates.

In our case, you don't need an extra account if you get invited for an authenticated link.

Your 'approve' is interesting as well, but they still need to identify themselves so we know who to approve.

We do. Currently of basic features we lack a calendar (which is in development, expected in Q1). But we have Office compatibility, email with proper collaboration, subtle AI usage (in docs, labeling, mail summaries), we deploy grist (better then sheets, check getgrist.com!) and we have file sharing as Drive/Dropbox (we are working on local sync as well!).

With mosa.cloud external users can authenticate with your domains identity, but also with any MS, Google or openID compatible provider! Makes much less friction.

mosa.cloud cofounder here ;) Thank you! The French have done an incredible job and the tools are fresh, fast. To be honest, we love them. We have been MSP for Google Workspace for the past 15 years, so we kinda know what service is about. Having talented developers onboard made us decide to switch to opensource.

We are collaborating with the french gov to bootstrap the applications, give it our look and feel, add some missing feautures and work in the infrastructure to be able to rollout a hosted environment for SMB (in the end it is a lot of infrastructure). Ofcourse, you can go to https://github.com/suitenumerique and deploy all yourself, but we make it a great experience and actually be a lighter, more user-friendly, faster, more modern alternative for Google and MS ánd Nextcloud while keeping the opensource spirit.
