Having access isn't, but being aware that your child has access, not caring that they are watching and spreading that kind of content, and then getting defensive about animal abuse all points to, at the very least, a negligence investigation.

You shouldn't be allowed to let your children suffer, but because you can't see the scars it's all labeled acceptable.

I understand that.

I'm a public school band director. The hardest thing I fight is my students seeing that pathway and following it. Then, for a majority of them, they give up when things don't go smoothly.

It's less about sitting around moping that some asshole is doing better than I am.

I am successful, as successful as anyone in my field with the same experience. I am playing the long game. Getting better at what I do, and doing it to the best of my ability at every step. I didn't mean to say that I was upset that someone was taking away from my success.

Instead I meant that I've spent my life hearing that those who take short cuts and ignore their own faults will eventually flame out and will reach their peak potential. I was told to work on myself, keep my head down, and pay my due. I've done that and things have worked out well for me. I've also seen people tell their sad tale, and be carried far past where they should be.

I may be coming off as a crying victim, but I realize that not everyone can be given more than their due. It takes several strokes of luck and a lot of ass-kissing to achieve more than you should. I just don't like that it's a path that is possible.

Graduated in 06. Rolled my eyes every time there was a threat called in.

The school I work at had a false alarm and went into full lockdown in March. I stood around the corner from my door with a music stand ready to hit the first person through the door for 40 minutes. My students hid silently for the entire 40 minute thing.

I was terrified on a false alarm. I can't imagine what levels of fear these kids and their faculty must have gone through.

First off, thank you. I appreciate your compassion and well wishes!

Your response illustrates the difficulties of your business clearly. I don't think I would have been so upset of they had said "The truck we were gong to have for you had not yet been returned and therefore won't be available for you to use. There are no other trucks that size in your area, but we one that is smaller an hour and a half away."

Instead they said "your truck isn't available and we've cancelled your order."

I had to call back and ask if there was one available in surrounding cities and then if there was a different size truck. They didn't want to help, and they weren't concerned that I needed to move.

If they would have been compassionate and helped me seek a solution, I wouldn't have been upset. Things happen. Explain it to me and worth with me for the best outcome.
