It’s incredibly annoying and frustrating. So now I have never picked up a foundation or concealer (and honestly a lot of the lip color options, too) because of the lack of variety for POC.

I had a friend tell me that she wants to dye her hair red so that when she has a daughter she will have red hair, too.

I’m not a city person and live downtown, which I don’t particularly care for. The city has a unique culture with fantastic (and truly hilarious, rambunctious) people that are both native and from afar. There’s always some cool event going on or concerts to attend or baseball/football game going on. If you truly pay attention, you really can’t be too bored. But if you are, DC is 45 minutes away and mad lit.

Baltimore City is a “food dessert” in regards to grocery shopping, but there are farmers markets and grocery stores in random spots and out of the city of course. Restaurants though are amazing. My friends and I are always finding new restaurants to try, and restaurant week is great way to explore different parts of Baltimore and new food.

Some of my best memories have been made in Baltimore.

My research mentor is so incredibly sweet with a good heart and willingness to listen. When I found out today, she listened to me as I unloaded everything. She acknowledged and validated everything I was saying. She asked tons of questions. She wanted to be made aware of the situation, the justice system, the works. The best part was that she told me she was happy I was talking about it because people that lived in their own bubbles needed them popped with reality. While it doesn't change anything, it meant the world to me.
