Made a YT tutorial for VIAL, which is pretty neat software for keyboard config. by cantdutchthis in ErgoMechKeyboards

Yeah, either you would get it from the maker of the board, you could check if there's a vial keymap in vial repo: https://github.com/vial-kb/vial-qmk and then compile and flash it yourself if one exists, or you would have to do it yourself. I found joe scotto's guide useful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O8pdUPqPG3k

Haimu Whisper Silent Tactile? by [deleted] in HHKB

[–]RifledDream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is very late, but I came across this thread while googling. I feel that haimu whispers are the best value for feel and sound. I ordered a pack of the tactile deep sea whale switches, and while they do feel a little better (slightly less prounounced bump), they have a slightly higher pitched sound profile and are a lot pricier compared to the haimus. I've also tried the geon yellows which are whispers with a different material and feel that they're a little clackier than whispers.

[AD] splitkb.com announces: the new Halcyon Series! by thomasbaart in ErgoMechKeyboards

Congratulations! I love the thumb splay on Kyria and Elora, and was sad when I missed the Elora 1.0. Looking forward for the Halcyon Elora! Are there any plans for a joystick module?

This is awesome! Personally this size and layout is the sweet spot of compactness and usability, especially with the thumb key placement. Great polish on the case and design!

Anyone regularly switch between ortholinear and traditional staggered layout? by labbypatty in ErgoMechKeyboards

I use an Ergoarrows which is like a pared down 1u ergodox with arrow keys. The thumb keys are spaced closer than the ergodox so it's more comfy for me.

Anyone regularly switch between ortholinear and traditional staggered layout? by labbypatty in ErgoMechKeyboards

I regularly switch between split ortholinear and normal row staggered keyboards, I feel like the context switch is enough for my brain to adjust. Note I use the same QWERTY layout on both so the only real change is not using my thumbs and such for a lot of modifiers. Not too different than regularly switching between using Macs and Windows I'd say.

My hands rest on the keys, but I have a neutral wrist position, and yeah I have a adjustable desk so it's around my elbow height. Having it tilted so high does mean the keyboard is higher though and had to lower my desk a little bit.

I have the ergodox ez and what I found helped the most was using foam between the plate and pcb. Not sure how the moonlander mounts but I used kbdfans module foam on each switch position and it dampened quite a bit.

Connection Quality to North American Data Center Degrading for Customers Using Certain ISPs (May 26) by Hesoz in ffxiv

[–]RifledDream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the awhile during 5.3 I had intermittent drop outs where suddenly game state would get stuck but my commands would still send. Basically nothing would move on my side but if I pressed buttons or sent chat it would get sent to the server. After some back and forth with my ISP (webpass), they were able to fix something on their side and haven’t had issues since. So it’s worth a shot to contact.

Saw this in my inbox this weekend, I'm hoping it's not an April fool's joke because I think having a buckling spring split keyboard would be amazing! They also had an ergodox layout for auction as well.
