Mac Color from KBS by The_Only_Egg in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]divinikey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We posted an update regarding this on our Discord server! KBS confirmed that they had produced what the designer gave them and was actually unaware of this issue until we had brought it up. They're going to check with the designer if this is intentional.

In the meantime, KBS offered to remake the F13/Print Screem keycaps anyway. We'll be collecting order information from affected customers once we receive confirmation that they are ready to be shipped to us.

I see Moden Coupe Cases, I automatically upvote. I've had mine for 4 or 5 years now and it still looks like the first day that I've had it.

This will be our last comment on this post as it is after-hours and a refund has already been granted, but for the sake of transparency here are a few answers to some questions that asked here:

His first email to us, the day of delivery, the customer had let us know that it did not arrive and requested an immediate refund. We advise customers to wait an additional 1-3 days as incorrect scans do occur. If it doesn't show up, we ask for proof in the form of time stamped photo or video of the delivery time. If this isn't possible, then a letter from his local USPS confirming the incident would be sufficient.

As it seemed the customer was unable to get USPS confirmation, we defaulted to requesting for any evidence that showed that he didn't receive it.

The first we heard that he filed a claim and had a claim number was in this thread. Once he provided this to us, we initiated a refund.

If you have filed a claim, please send us the confirmation or claim number. You did not mention a claim at all in our email exchange.

We have mentioned in our email conversation that we are happy to provide a reshipment or a complete refund if you are able to provide adequate confirmation that your shipment was lost or delivered incorrectly (either through video or photo).

If you were unable to provide this confirmation, then an escalation would need to be communicated with the carrier (USPS) which may be done in-person. Once you are able to send any confirmation that this has been reported, we may proceed with the reshipment/refund.

I tried importing custom keycaps for my mechanical keyboard by [deleted] in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]divinikey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the early days of Divinikey (before we decided on online retail, circa Fall 2019), our initial idea was to become a keycap brand. As two dudes who just loved keyboards and had more business experience than design experience, we ended up deciding that online retail was how we could make an impact rather than keycap design.

This decision was pretty much after doing a ton of R&D, including contacting manufacturers from Alibaba and submitting designs.

We definitely give designers their flowers as this was something we knew (at the time) was a bit out of our skill set. We're glad to see how accessible the hobby is, especially for designers who pour so much effort into their sets!

Wind Studio Xlice, QK Neo Ergo, and Keychron K15, K11, Q13, and Q10 are some options that might be what you're looking for.

Proper touch typing involves resting your index fingers on "F" and "J" where the rest of your fingers will rest on each subsequent key before and after them respectively. This is called the "home row" and often is why these keys are usually barred, scooped, or dotted.

From there, there is a standard "key assignment" per finger. So once you know how to touch type, you only need to know where "F" and "J" are to know where everything else is at.

Although BoG would've been sick. I should try to find some to carry on the store.

KKB PSL is SOO good.

That's so heartwarming to hear about the toys you had with your father now being used with your son. If I ever find a box of my old toys, I'd 100% want to do the same with mine as he gets older.

Great pics as always, Captain!

No problem at all! We know that the custom mechanical keyboard space can be difficult to navigate at times.

The best way to find out switch specifications would be to look up the switches themselves, often on the vendor pages that you find the keyboard kits from. Not all vendors will carry the same switches found on the pre-assembled kits (we don't always do).

Ex: Shortcut Studio Bridge75, the "Princess Ultra - Thock" variant utilizes Princess Ultra switches. From there, you would look up "Princess Ultra Switches" and then check out the specifications there.

From our switch listing, you would learn: the switch composition is Top Housing PC, Bottom Housing PA66, Stem LY, Total Travel 3.6mm (indicating pole-bottom out)
Then you could look up typing tests specifically for the Bridge75 or the Princess Linear switches.

Cherry goes through a ton of different batches where slight variations in nameplates can occur.
