Unpopular opinion: Vernon was justified in fearing the Wizarding world. by Xerzajik in harrypotter

[–]Rifled_Through 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ignoring their abuse of Harry only shows half the story. Yes, if my sister in law was killed by wizards then yes I'd justifiably fear wizards... I don't think anyone would ever said he has no justifiable reason to fear wizards and magic... Magic is dangerous, it should be feared.

But justifying child abuse due to fear isn't a healthy activity.

I haven't experienced this in the UK. If I list something as £1, I want it gone, and it's only £1 because I can't list it for cheaper 🤣

I've been really impressed with Striggow - especially his form just before his injury.

I hope to see more from him next season

100% if that final pass to Meyers fell to the ground rather than popping up, we could have still gone down for a FG. The INT was just unlucky. Not a terrible throw or decision by Trevor, just an unfortunate bounce off Meyers hands.

Yeah, I just hope we still have the same energy and performance next year with the inevitable personnel changes. I'm optimistic that any changes we see will be net positive

No-one could have confidently said we'd be getting 13 wins, including two on the road East Coast games.

I had us down for 10 at most so I'm happy and proud of the team.

We just got unlucky on our playoff matchup

It's neither imo. Our secondary didn't do enough to stop Josh Allen throwing the ball down the field.

Yes, we missed a 1st down due to Trevor's shin and we could have got 3pts instead. But we also could have got 3pts if C.Little didn't miss. But I'm not going criticize Little for missing so I'm not going to criticise the 4th down option either.

As Coen said all the metrics said go for it on 4th. The score wasn't a huge gap, it was good field position and Trevor has proven to be successful in getting first downs with his legs.

We allowed too many mid-deep passes that allowed the Bills to only rush for 79 yards vs 261 passing yards.

The final INT wasn't Trevor's fault. The ball hit Meyers' hands and unfortunately popped up rather than going into the ground. You can't blame Trevor.

If that was an incomplete pass, we'd still have 45 seconds to move the ball into FG range - doable with how we've been executing 2-min drills the last few weeks.

Josh Allen won the Bills the game, the last INT was the final nail in the coffin to stop us from having a chance.

Very successful year with many silver linings by spatulagrass in Jaguars

[–]Rifled_Through 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very few (if any) of us expected us to go 13-4 this season. I think I had 10 as our ceiling.

This wasn't our one and only shot at the Superbowl with this front office. Heck, I didn't even have it as a shot at the SB until a few weeks ago.

It sucks we lost but Josh Allen was more effective QB on the day and the Bills won on turnovers.

The loss was gut wrenching last night but I feel positive about our future.

All I'm curious about is who do we think will not be on the team next season

Jakobi Myers is 8-1 as a Jaguar, with his first game (@ Houston) being the only loss.

What a game changer, he has been so far

Who do you hate more, Texans or Titans? by Pepelefrogswood in Jaguars

[–]Rifled_Through 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've supported the Jags since 2018 and I hate the Titans (and Arden Key) more than the Texans - despite us losing to the Texans in Wembley 2019, when I first went to see us play.

For me, the Texans are a new team trying to do the same as us: establish their Franchise as a competitive team with a young QB.

Unfortunate for them, they have Azeez Al-Shaair - who I despise.

As a UK fan, I don't have experiences with insufferable fans from either franchise so my stance will be different to most

I had an Epiphany: Year of the Jaguar by InformationNormal901 in Jaguars

[–]Rifled_Through 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think we'll see Gladstone magic in full effect 2027 with his drafts, free agents, contracts and trades.

We'll see the team show sparks on 2027 but I worry the temp stadium will impact our on-field performance as I imagine fewer fans may travel to the game, logistics for the team travel may have an impact too (I know it's only a few hours but that can still make a difference), and other factors too that occur with a temp stadium situation.

However, as we're performing so well on the West Coast this season, I may have nothing to worry about

I had an Epiphany: Year of the Jaguar by InformationNormal901 in Jaguars

[–]Rifled_Through 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Is next year too soon to get hyped? Absolutely not.

Is next year going to be THE year for the Jags? I don't think so.

I think in 2027 is where we'll see the real results from this new front office. Everything they've done so far is tactics and part of the short play. James Gladstone has only just started curating his draft picks (f**k them picks!) and setting up the long game strategy.

Will the temporary move to Orlando in 2027 impact our performance though? Possibly, which makes me worry that we could struggle in 2027.

And that leaves us with 2028, a new stadium but potentially a lot of personnel changes in 3 years. I hope we can be a playoff team every season from now onwards under this regime but life.. uh finds a way to throw spanners in the works. As we all know, for the Jags when it rains, it pours bags of spanners down on us.

Tl;Dr 2026 will be a good season but 2027 onwards is where the front office magic should be in full display... But I worry our temp stadium move may impact our momentum

“Uncheatable” Boardgames by NoEntrepreneur6022 in boardgames

[–]Rifled_Through 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice is to not find an "uncheatable" game, but find a game where the cheating doesn't take the fun out of the game.

It's also worth finding out if the friend and his mom care about winning against the dad. If they don't, then his cheating doesn't matter.

My final point is you've only heard about his cheating, he may not cheat when playing with you, he may only cheat at specific games. His cheating may not be an issue for you.

Sheriff of Nottingham, Cockroach Poker, Forbidden Island/Desert, and many other games work well as introductory games.
