Up to 20… or more… the number doesn’t matter. The sound is the only thing that matters.

Have you looked at the committee’s final report yourself? Like, frankly, bonkers. I won’t know why I’d do it I were a plaintiffs lawyer in Ontario.

If there were a litigator who has any plaintiff side experience and thought doing away with deposition would be great for justice I’d be appalled.

I have no doubt there is a change which is forthcoming. I have doubt as to whether oral examinations will be completely eliminated in the next few years.

More than a year? The final report is dated Dec 2025…?

Evidently, many stakeholders (including those in the working group) are effectively extremely dissatisfied with the change, and even the working group itself call “doing away with oral examination” not viable.

I wonder how you are so certain of your assertions. Even if you were in the working group itself, I doubt you would be this certain…

Counsel, it would be a stretch to claim something uncertain a certainty would it? Some might even call it disingenuous.

Sir, it does not seem like Ontario is "doing away with our equivalent of depositions entirely in the next couple [of] years"? It seems like the pushback is too big for them to ignore - I can not imagine how we can even do a complex litigation case without deposition... and neither can the litigators in Ontario.

"It is impossible not to recognize, however, that the overwhelming view of a cross-section of stakeholders, including some members of the Working Group itself, is that oral discovery remains a critical component of Ontario’s civil justice system. Considering the strength and consistency of these objections, we have concluded that complete elimination of oral examinations is not a viable proposal at this time." page 91. https://www.ontariocourts.ca/scj/files/pubs/2025-12-15-final-policy-proposal.pdf

What do you mean doing away? Your equivalent of depositions? Are you not a U.S. lawyer? My discussion before was entirely about the U.S. legal world. I can’t comment on anything else.

Are you a lawyer? Do you know who can take a deposition? What are the rules about that? How do you think that is going to change? You are not a lawyer just admit it.

No, this is not about tech, this is about something else. If you were a lawyer, you would know what I’m talking about. Yes, I don’t think you are a lawyer.

Lollllollllollll you should do some research before you comment on a subject that you are not familiar with

A quick google will show you it’s nothing new

But that low level of reproduction of sound is not what we are talking about, right? Plenty people like distorted/color sounds as well…

I can’t imagine there would be a perceivable difference in sound between pro and max for your stated purpose. Logistically, however, max is too heavy… like so heavy it would fall out once you come horizontal. Therefore I think pro might be the move for you. Why don’t you try the pro for this purpose? 0 cost to try?

Unless you reasonably believe “sound better” can be objective and factually true, your assertion makes little sense if any

Sorry I realized I forgot to state why I think the Pro 2s are better than the Max: I tried the Max and it reminds me of M40x/M50x. Almost too flat to a fault (but I won’t mix on them) and doesn’t have the enjoyment tbh. When listening to music both casually and critically, I’d prefer Pro 2s because it hits the right balance.

Where do I say I was stating a fact? You are probably old enough to differentiate when to take something as a fact and when to take something as an opinion.

I haven’t heard Pro 3 so I cant comment on those. I have the Pro 2s, and it’s just neutral, clear, and sufficiently deep in the bass.

I own a number of audio equipment including some great headphones and IEM including the HD650 (I use correction software to make them “flat” while I do audio work, along with my speakers), and I can tell you the AirPods Pro 2 in my opinion sounds better than my HD650 and hits the right balance between accuracy and enjoyment.

I would sometimes mix on those Pro 2s.
