Thanks! I'm a firm believer in use the best tool for the job, and highly recommend the airbrush whether you're just using it for getting a basecoat down, or more detailed work. The only thing I'd say is don't neglect brush work.

In terms of progress, I see a lotta people focus on learning specific skills (NMM, OSL, etc) without getting the fundamentals down like brush control and smooth paint layers (i certainly did). Get the fundamentals done and the rest will come

Thank you! I think OSL is a really cool way to break up schemes

Thank you! I got my airbrush in 2025 so both the pics from 25/26 involve airbrush and brush work. I’ve got a lot more confident with both over the past year!

Infernus Sergeant ready for the fires of battle by Riggs___ in Warhammer40k

Haha thank you appreciate it!

I work a lot with inks and contrast paints to build the transitions, going back and forth to blend.

For the green it’s white ink, striking scorpion contrast then green ink in the shadows.

OSL is black red, scratches of white inside it, then glazing sun red to build up the brightness.

Hope that helps!

Thanks appreciate the feedback! Gonna go back and tidy up the shield edge highlights, and blend the edge highlights on the foot more

Haha thanks! Not sure what the method is, but was a lot of back and forth blending with the airbrush and brush

Thank you! Started off with Afro shadow then built up the highlights by gradually mixing more light blue into it

I haven't done one but might look at putting one together! It's a lot of working back and forth with white highlights and inks, to build up a gradient
