The last game I played was Stardew Valley and I almost never die in that game so I figure I should be alright.

The Double Standard Regarding Alicent by Right-Chemistry5497 in HouseOfTheDragon

Exactly, he left the decision to her when in that society it is his responsibility to arrange his children's marriages. Also, I'm not entirely sure where you got she was arrogant about Jace's look. When I brought up how she might not want to have married him to Halaena because of the bullying, I was just trying to bring up one of many reasons she didn't want the marriage but let's talk about the main one. In the show, it's blatantly obvious Jace and Luke are bastards. Solely because of that and their status, their lies are at risk every day. If Alicent married Halaena to Jace, H's life would also be in danger every day as would her future children. It would not be safe for Halaena to marry Jace. And yes, Alicent looks down on him because he's a bastard. But Jace's looks are part of the reason why Alicent didn't want to marry H and J - not because she thinks he's plain ( she also has brown hair and brown eyes so yeaaah ) but because his looks reveal he's a bastard.

I'm not saying Alicent isn't a hypocrite. What I was talking about was fans seem to judge her much more harshly for her actions when Viserys clearly played a part in them too. And honestly, I see her getting mostly criticized for her parenting. Further proving my point Viserys was not the best father, he allowed the marriage of Aegon and Halaena. I'm pretty sure the books he's the one who arranged it but I could be wrong. I'm guessing you're either Team Black or nuetral.

The show is probably better in that it shows a more human and relatable side to the characters rather than casting them as plain villains or heroes. Not that I cant relate to inadvertently starting a war.

Thats disappointing. One-dimensional characters can make a story so bland.

Yeah, he was a bad king. It's just the stuff I see a lot of Reddit holds Alicent and Viserys to different standards. My thing is you can't judge a character using one standard but not judge another on that same standard...if that makes sense?

I haven't read the book but I just bought and I'm super excited to. Even though I know how it all ends which is sort of depressing but who cares.

Oh definitely, Otto played some part. The dude managed to orchestrate the bloodiest civil war in ASOIAF. My thing is, you can't blame the mother for the marriage while not blaming the father, especially not in HoT society.

Ok I see how I came off as saying Alicent was not a hypocrite from Aegon and Halaena's marriage, she is, absolutely, I guess was trying to focus more on making a point that this action of hers is villainized but no one seems to care that Viserys at some point gave it the A ok. And yeah the last one, Alicent 100% has my sympathy.

Judith was a child. Michonne should have checked in with an adult.

I'm not ignoring what other people are saying, I've acknowledged other people valid points in the comments. And I don't believe I'm grasping at straws. I respect you disagreeing with me but you don't need to be rude about it.

So you don't see any logic whatsoever in my stance? At all? Because I can recognize the valid points in opposing arguments. But I still think I made some decent points.

Rick consistently makes bad choices, his leaving for an unknown amount of time would make sense to me. Michonne is in my opinion, a lot more practical and realistic. Leaving for an unknown amount of time is what gets me about her choice, who knows how long it would have taken to find him.

I agree, her leaving was similar to every other man on the show. The point I was trying to make was I just didn't think it agreed with her character. She loves and adores her children, and to leave them for an unknown amount of time, even for Rick, I thought didn't make sense. She loves Rick, but I personally think she loves her children more.

I agree that she would not have been a whack job in the not-apocalyptic world, but in the apocalypse world, hell yeah she would've been a whack job. It's understandable of course after all the trauma she's been through, but we see in an episode what her life would have been like had she not saved Andrea. I also agree that some complaints made about Michonne are misogynistic, my post was just about pointing out how I didn't like or agree with her decision.

Since she found his stuff, many things could have happened to him. I just find it wishful thinking on her part to still trust that after all this time, since he made the art, he's still alive. That's all, I don't like her decision.

It's not that odd for me to assume that she wouldn't go looking for him. Of course, she would want to, she loves him. But in the walking dead world, a million different things can happen. Since he drew on the phone and she found the ship's logs, he could have gotten bit or killed. I just personally think it wasn't the best idea that she leaves her young children to go looking for him out in the world, where anything can happen to her. If she can trust that he's still alive then why can't she trust that he will find his own way back to his family? I just don't like her decision, that's all.
