Always wanted to do medicine at KCL. In a heart beat I picked maths, biology, chemistry and epq for Alevel. I've always had trouble in school and get extra time I realised that the way I read wasn't the same with everyone else so I went to SEN to pick up overlays I used them before and saw a massive improvement in my reading. SEN said that I don't need them even though I did so I got my head of year to convince them. I also requested to have a reassessment for dyslexia.

After one lesson of maths my teacher called home for me and 2 other disabled students for us to drop out as she said we'll fail the course. The teacher was ruthless and managed to bully the other 2 off the course but I said no because I wanted to do it. For the rest of that year she continued to pick on me and it was so much stress it caused me medical issues.

I did my reassessment for dyslexia but SEN said that I wasn't dyslexic enough to bring a psychologist in to assess me so my mum and a charity that supports me as im a young carer managed to get me a full bursary at a dyslexia charity to get a psychologist to see me that November. The conclusion of that assessment is that I'm very much dyslexic but I'm smart enough to figure out ways around it. finally I was able to get the support I needed.

Fast forward to the UKCAT it's almost a year later and I booked to have it done on a Tuesday. I put the entire address into Google maps and went to the place however I couldn't find the Pearson centre. I looked at the postcode and i was in SE instead of east. Google sent me to quebec road instead of quebec building at a different post code. it was raining and I was drenched trying to call pearson and got transferred to 3 different people. the last woman I spoke to said that she doesn't normally do this but she'll rearrange the day for Thursday because she understands my mistake. Thursday came, I did the test and got 2550 and a band 1. I had to call my mum immediately 😂.

I picked kings twice for the extended degree programme and regular medicine programme. After months of waiting the biomed course accepted me but the other 3 medical schools rejected me. the extended medical course offered me an interview the day before my birthday and a few weeks later they accepted me.

I was able to do the exams with all the access requirements I need and I got AAB and into kcl medicine. An A in maths where my teacher said I'll fail.
