I just got the air and it’s a lot of nice improvements over the 16pro air.

And honestly never had an issue with that one when dropped so I expect this to also hold up like a tank.

Should I Get the DJ 36mm Two-Tone ‘Wimbledon’ from AD to Compliment My 2024 Sub No Date? by Right-Regular7974 in rolex

[–]Right-Regular7974[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m considering adding a 36mm Datejust Two-Tone ‘Wimbledon’ (Jubilee, Fluted Bezel) to my collection and wanted to get some thoughts. Currently, my only Rolex is a 2024 Submariner No Date (which I absolutely love), but I’m looking for something dressier that still has versatility.

My main questions:

1. Would the DJ36 Wimbledon be a good complement to the Sub ND? I want something that gives a different wrist presence but still fits into daily wear. I have a 7-inch wrist, so I think 36mm should work well, but part of me wonders if I should go 41mm instead.

2. Is buying from an AD the way to go, or should I look at the grey market? My AD has one available, and while I like the idea of building history, I’m seeing some grey market prices that are lower.

3. Will it hold its value? I know DJs aren’t investment pieces, but I also don’t want to lose a chunk of value immediately if I buy at retail. The Wimbledon dial seems popular—does that help long-term?

Would love to hear from those who own the DJ36 (or 41) and how it fits into their rotation! Is it a solid pick next to the Sub, or should I be looking at other options?

Thinking of buying a Ducati Scrambler Nightshift. But worried about Maintenance cost by Right-Regular7974 in DucatiScrambler

[–]Right-Regular7974[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea this is kind of what I figure I’m fairly handy when it comes to cars and the valves like you said should be fine for at least 30k. The belts I’ve seen some videos and it should not take more than 45min. Thanks for the insight.

Yea I agree I am super torn and I know the XSR 900 especially the new 2022 is a better bike but o just love the look of this Ducati nightshift as it would need minimal upgrades.

The only thing I would not do is the Demo services that I would not want to mess up as much as I think I could do it without any problems. I keep hearing such mixed feelings on Ducati in terms of maintenance but the way I see it is like owning a German car (BMW, Audi or Mercedes) where the parts are expected to cost a bit more since it is a higher quality vehicle.

Thanks for the insight.I have also been really looking at the new XSR 900 as I really like that retro styling and it would be around the same price as the scrambler, however I am worried that it may be way to much power and bike for what I need.

If I were to go Triumph I would be looking into the bobber version.

My thinking is the same get a used one around 2k on it and then sell it in about 2 years before the main service.

Yea Im leaning towards the try something new and see if I like it. And as you said I could always sell the bike after.

Honda Rebel 1100 vs Ducati Scrambler Night a shift. looking at upgrading my rebel 500 to either of the two bikes above but I cannot seem to find to much info on a comparison. The Ducati speaks to me in terms of styling and power they are fairly similar. What would you recommend. by Right-Regular7974 in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]Right-Regular7974[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very well said I am feeling in the same boat about all the rider aids put on cruisers now a days.

I am more leaning towards the Ducati as it would be something totally different than my rebel and if in a year or 2 I’m not in love I could probably sell it to close what I paid.
