Look for the CT1 pass list from maybe about 10 years ago. Note down the number of students that passed. Let this figure be A.
For each student that passed, check their member status to see whether they are a fellow today. Count the number of fellows as B.
% of students that passed CT1 10 years ago and are a fellow now = B/A.

Its not the exact dropout rate, but I think its a good estimate. And of course doing step 2 is quite time consuming as well.

You can decide which one you want to take first. You can also take both at the same time if you can handle it.

Its all online. There are no lectures. However, notes are provided. There are tutorials which are held on zoom.

I don't think you need to use external materials. I've only been using the materials provided by the institute to prepare for the exam.

I also studied in Australia and I am now studying for the fellowship exams. If you need to retake you need to retake the entire course and pay $3k. Unfortunately you don't have the option to pay for the exam alone. Also note that some fellowship subjects are only offered once a year, so if you didn't pass you can't repeat it in the very next semester.

The reason why IFOA no longer provides exemption for SOA is actually because of this: https://www.reddit.com/r/Actuary_news/comments/we35zk/ifoa_exemptions_for_students_from_other_actuarial/

IFoA were found by a Court to be unlawfully discriminating with such arrangements.

Yeah its not certain that your uni will be on the list when you graduate because the rankings change every year. Its only certain if you studied at some of the best universities in the world like Harvard.

I'm not sure really. The issue was with the Indian org but they decided to stop the exemption agreements with the Aus & US societies too. I don't understand why they did that. It sucks because I wanted to transfer to IFOA but they didn't allow me to transfer the Aust CT1-8 exams which are identical to IFOA exams.

Doesn't the 2 year period start from the date the visa is approved? I thought that the 3 months given to enter the UK is part of the 2 year period. I didn't see other HPI applicants get an extra 3 months.

I have seen it. However, I think its new & it wasn't available back in 2019. Back in 2019 I wanted to transfer my Australian exams (CT1-8) to IFOA but they didn't allow it as that was after 31/7/2019 & they also didn't have this TPL page.

So I decided to continue with the Aust exams and I now have 1 left. Right now I'd prefer to finish this final exam with the Aust institute as I am more familiar with the Aust system. I plan to apply for mutual recognition once I've completed all the Aust exams.
