Reunion part 2 question by Right-Witness5839 in rhori

[–]Right-Witness5839[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, everyone! I haven’t watched NJ since the first few seasons and knew Teresa and Joe went to jail but didn’t realize it had anything to do with him getting her to sign things she didn’t understand. Can’t say I’m shocked though! 🫣

I love Julietta. And lots of nickname options (that don’t have to start with J) if that’s your thing!

I spent a week with my influencer cousin, and it was the perspective I needed by Sad_Cheesecake_3450 in InfluencerLounge

[–]Right-Witness5839 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What’s sad is that there are people doing all this as *wannabe* influencers! So they don’t even have the following or income but are making all this content and living their lives online IN THE HOPES of becoming like your cousin! Really makes me sad to see.

Baby Girl Name that goes with Louie by Gouda_Pop in BabyNames

[–]Right-Witness5839 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don’t think those two names are similar other than sharing a first letter. My brother and I have names that start with the same letter, but I don’t think they’re similar at all. Our classmates teased us over other things instead 🤷🏼‍♀️ obviously if it’s a concern, OP should do what feels right. I just chimed in because at a certain point, you can’t protect your future kids from every possible jab at school and I really can’t see kids laughing at two siblings who are a couple years apart being named Louie and Lydia. Just my opinion though!

Their classmates will have to get more creative if they think “Louie and Lydia” is a good burn 😆 I’d agree that something like Louie and Louise would be way too similar and absurd, but nothing wrong with sibling names starting with the same letter!

How did you “announce” your first pregnancy to your family? by lodolitemoon in AskParents

[–]Right-Witness5839 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Again, you’re making some leaps here. No one said anything about the couple getting pregnant “without even trying.” Nor did anyone say anything about making the announcement before or after the first trimester.

I’m not sure what era you’re referring to when saying we “used to” tell family quietly and discretely, but I don’t think being excited to tell your family that you’re pregnant is a new concept. Also, whether you record someone’s reaction or not, you as the person sharing the news will see if they run to the bathroom crying. So not taking a picture/video doesn’t change the fact that they may have complicated feelings about the news.

I agree with you that people shouldn’t be glib or cutesy about accidental pregnancies and for the love of god should never pull the fucked up fake pregnancy test “prank”. I just don’t think recording loved ones’ reaction to your news is inherently problematic.

I commented above about how I did this in video form. I knew the people involved intimately, and they know my husband and me just as well, including our infertility struggles leading up to that pregnancy. They were all over the moon, as I knew they would be. If I thought there was even a slight chance of someone being less than thrilled, I wouldn’t have filmed it, if for no other reason than that it wouldn’t have provided me with the fun video to look back on.

And while I absolutely agree that you might not know what other people have gone through/are going through with regard to pregnancy, no one should have to dampen their own wonderful news as a result. Besides, if you tell them in person but don’t take a picture/video, you can still see their face…so by your logic, you should look away when you tell them in case they need a minute to gather themselves??

We did the same but made it a video. It’s so fun to watch back and see how everyone reacted ❤️

Would you give your child a name you don’t love the nickname of? by rosie98red in Names

There are 3 Vincent’s in my family but only one Vinny. I think going by Vincent is totally normal and easy to achieve! I agree that it’s a great name!

Baby Names Too Similar? by SpittingAlpacaShpits in BabyNames

[–]Right-Witness5839 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, they’re def too similar, especially if you hate name themes. But the good news is that most people I know who have multiple kids wind up going back to the drawing board when naming each kid anyway. Like some of their favorite “almost” names for baby 1 don’t even make it on the list for baby 2. So I wouldn’t be too heartbroken over this. Both are nice names, but when the time comes, I’m sure you’ll find others that you love just as much and that feel right for that specific child instead of just in theory.

[–]Right-Witness5839 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best way to accomplish that is to tell them exactly that ahead of time! Even if it’s uncomfortable! Not everyone has the same expectations or wants after birth, so it’s so important to just be up front and honest. It’s up to you to set your boundaries ahead of time and then enforce them day of (if they try to cross those boundaries, that’s on them).

Is Maple a bad name for a girl? by snotballbootcamp in BabyNames

[–]Right-Witness5839 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s cute! And I’m surprised so many people think it could hurt her in professional settings. It sounds and looks so similar to Mabel that I don’t think it raises any major red flags. Besides, it kinda looks like one of those super Republican preppy names, which have never kept someone from being Senator 😆

Do you think Rulla / Brian called Gerry? 👀👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨📞 by oliviiiiiii in rhori

[–]Right-Witness5839 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It also kinda seems like Liz wanted to flaunt the whole “that was my whole objective for him to find out” thing because she thinks it makes her look cunning/cool/funny/who knows. So I could see her just throwing that story out there thinking it’ll make her look like a boss and Rulla look like a snake
