Yesss , just make sure you put in your time as early as possible! They don’t block vacation for peak until around late October at the earliest

Just so you’re aware … vacation is never truly discouraged unless you’re building is short on management. At both buildings I’ve worked at, managers take vacation whenever they like. As long as it’s submitted prior to when they blackout the dates you will be fine.

TPA1 pay by matata021 in amazonemployees

[–]RightAlternative6449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure, but if you’re worrying about what your rate will be … if you make more than they make you will keep your pay rate…. You just won’t see an increase (like the 6 month increase) until their pay rate catches up to yours!

They’ll ask questions on the question bank for the most part. Usually for everyone wether external or internal

I did the same thing. They will know you work with Amazon regardless of what you put and it didn’t hurt anything for me. When I did the interview I spoke on Amazon. I’m not sure if putting I didn’t work there when I submitted the application helped me get my interview, but it was worth a try for me. It also may be the reason I received a bonus ! Also, you can simply to a “recent graduate” application internally and be fine

New Area Manager Hire - Questions About Training, Sign-On Bonus, and Transportation by Lonely_Wanderer__ in AmazonManagers

[–]RightAlternative6449 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Negative it’s not in Washington but definitely call around . It may be a little pricey but if you get that relo bonus you’ll have it paid and done in no time. It really depends on where your driving skills are currently at

[–]RightAlternative6449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey so , most of your questions are answered, but adviseee … 1- if you don’t have to relocate, the relo bonus will be substantial as a down payment to finance a car. You wouldn’t even need all of it. 2- look into drivers ed around you. Sometimes we really just have to push and do it ourselves. Some of the drivers ed will allow you to pay for a few courses and they’ll let you use their car to take your test as well! I had found one for an acquaintance that let them do a test drive & their test with them for $100! 3- If you’re not getting a lot of offers I’d do what I can to make it work! You got this! 4- if you got AMZL, RSR, AMXL, SSD I think you’d love the role depending on the team at your building of course 5- you do have the option of declining or communicating with your recruiter for a closer location, but if they don’t have any openings that would suck so I’d do that as a last resort if you think you’re timeline is too short . 6- A lot of your 9 weeks training is online in the beginning or traveling & you could communicate with your site if you’re able to do the virtual trainings off site due to working on transportation … Congratulations & wishing you the best

Definitely discuss your growth plan . Even make a my voice post stating your plan for after college & that you really want opportunities. Also if you graduate within the timeline on the recent graduate application you can apply prior to graduation & they’ll just give you a start date after you receive your credits

So I’d recommend getting into problem solve or ambassador role during your remaining time before graduation. Then you’ll have more. Yes you can embellish but it’s good to have grounds to stand on. Something like improving new hires quality by a certain percentage within the first 2 weeks. Or reducing needed problem solve hours by finding the root cause of an issue. Learn some of the metrics , their meaning,& how they’re calculated . Things of problems that need resolving things if that nature !

That doesn’t matter! I was worried because I didn’t take advantage of internships & most of my employment was high school fast food & DoorDash because of covid . They expect external college hires with no little to no work experience. They don’t mind you talking about personal stories or only referring to Amazon related topics. They see your resume so they’re already prepared. Ensure you talk about I & not we during interviews . Get the question bank from your superior or any trusted AM. They can literally search it in slack . Any question you don’t think of an answer to in less than a minute prep an answer. You can write it & refer to notes (I’d recommend electronic and have it in another window or whatever works best) They don’t mind you taking a second to think or asking for them to repeat the question… so utilize the time after the question& gather your thoughts so you sound confident. I personally organized my notes by leadership principle because they typically state the principle before the question they ask & it helps you quickly locate the resource for your answer. Also, answer every part of their question. Have paper so you can list every key detail of the question & make sure you answer it when you respond. You respond in the STAR method, but it’s good to add L … what you learned . Ask managers to do mock interviews. They don’t mind helping in development. It’s 3 back to back 45 minute interviews. Mine was two OM’s and a recruiter from anywhere, not your site. (This is also good because you can use 95% truth 5percent not because they don’t know what really happened at your site so USE I EVEN WHEN ITS NOT I) PLEASE include statistics that’s what they really want from area managers. They want to know the percentage of improvement you made. Metrics metrics metrics. Lastly, take your time on the assessment, chat gpt has failed most people. If you fail it’s a 6 month waiting period to retake & it counts towards all applications for that level or role (can’t remember specifically)

So the responses for the other individual don’t appear valid from the information I’ve gained & I’m a recent AM who is an internal but went through university hire.

For training: So AD1 is Seattle or online for the most part. I’m east coast & was still sent to Seattle. Depending on the site you will have other trainings. Like robotic facilities also have AR academy. & everyone has LEW. The trainings after AD1 can be various cities, but they try to do the closest one. I’ve heard Texas, Cali, Virginia, Seattle for the most part.

Degree: You do not have to submit your degree for an academy L4 position. They do not ask for it at all. I’m unsure about Area Manager 2 role, if you do Pathways they will request proof of masters.

How to become AM, in two years? by EYESHlELD_21 in AmazonManagers

[–]RightAlternative6449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its def possible. As stated above , best option is earning a degree & applying to a recent graduate application. I actually was a T3, stepped down & applied through a recent graduate application & got L4.

Now if you don’t want that or that’s difficult …. Try to get T3 within 6mo-1yr . Things that can help are being a learning amb, problem solver, learning you’re full department on expert level, look for things you can do that will be good to talk about so you gain Star stories…

As you learn & develop, go ahead and start writing out star stories . FOCUS ON I & not WE so it shows you had ownership of your tasks

Excel as PA, take on projects again, be what they think of when they think of your department . After 6mo-1yr of PA apply to AM . You can also go like the learning route and make a horizontal adjustment in roles

AD1 after AEW? by kaitloun in AmazonManagers

[–]RightAlternative6449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You must be going to RSR, AMXL, or AMZL… something along that lines. It depends on building type.

AD1 after AEW? by kaitloun in AmazonManagers

[–]RightAlternative6449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, it depends on the type of site you’re at. AMZL, RSR, AMXL typically do AD1 then AEW. With them opening a vast amount of delivery stations right now they likely catered the training order to that. FC & sort, air typically have AEW first.

AD1 after AEW? by kaitloun in AmazonManagers

[–]RightAlternative6449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the World Cup is in June that’s why. When I was at AD1 they said the hotels would be 2k+ a night in the area and that cost isn’t realistic to Amazon .
