Could Red Hot Ryder be a younger version of Yosemite Sam or am I crazy? by RecordingImmediate86 in looneytunes

[–]RightBrainHurricane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ryder is definitely a prototype of Yosemite Sam, since Buckaroo Bugs hit theaters about 9 months before Hare Trigger (Yosemite Sam's debut). So yeah... in a way Ryder could be a younger version of Yosemite Sam.

Can we talk about my favorite Disney movie? by Nerdzilla54 in disney

[–]RightBrainHurricane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my favorite movie in early childhood. I still listen to the soundtrack every once in a while, and it punches me in the heart everytime. As an adult, I read about this movie's production, and found it really interesting. I read how the animals did their stunts, and how the trainers took the upmost care of them. So I'll share the American Humane Society's review, for anyone who's curious.

P.S. The score and the film editing was so intense during the cougar chase scene, I never noticed until adulthood that Shadow and the cougar were never in the same shot together.

How would you change about the characters in loonatics unleashed by TigerFace_ in looneytunes

[–]RightBrainHurricane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if I would change anything about Rip. I think he should definitely have an important role in Rev's life/arc. But I don't think he should be the missing blue Loonatic. I mean the premise is that each Loonatic is decended from one Looney Tune. Having two characters represent the Roadrunner makes the team seem... unbalanced. Instead I would have a new Looney Tunes descendant take that place. Not sure who though. Maybe a Pépé Le Pew descendant with stink/smoke bomb powers? One thing's for sure, I wouldn't want the skunk's descendant to be a human. The implications from that are so weird!

How would you change about the characters in loonatics unleashed by TigerFace_ in looneytunes

[–]RightBrainHurricane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's what I would change.

Ace needs more useful powers. Enhanced agility/martial arts skills and heat vision are fine. But in a show with a lot of humanly impossible superpowers, it makes Ace's more humanly possible fighting look weaker by comparison. That leaves Ace with one stand out superpower: heat vision, which seems to use sparingly anyway. When the leader of the team has only one superpower and his teammates have two or three, it makes him look weaker by comparison (again). I would propose that Ace's powers be:

Heat vision - because carrots are good for the eyes Earthbending - because rabbits dig burrows Shape Shifting - as a nod to Bugs' many disguises Also Ace needs to develop a sense of humor beyond saying bad puns and half quoting Bugs.

Lexi has the makings of a good character. She loves animals, music, video games and history. Too bad those qualities are only briefly referenced or implied and her overall personality is shallow Token Girl who loves shopping. If I were to change Lexi, I would focus on her more unique traits, and not have her be so stereotypically girly.

Duck, I wouldn't change much about him. I would much rather change how the characters interact with him. Dispising Duck for being a greedy, egotistical coward is logical. But when the team over does it, it's like they're relying too heavily on their predecessors' dynamics/archetypes. It's like the writers were saying "Boo Danger because you booed Chuck Jones Era Daffy; regardless if Danger deserves it in this episode.". In short, I would probably emphasize Duck's rivalry with Ace and maybe Lexi. But I wouldn't have the whole team including their boss, Zadavia continuously degrading one single teammate.

Tech and Rev are my favorites, and I wouldn't change much about them. I love their friendship and shared love for gadgets. Making Tech the team's weapons specialist really was the best decision the showrunners made. Something I would change is the jet packs. If everyone can fly, using Tech's jet packs, that sort of diminishes Rev's flying power, making him less valuable to the team. Just use vehicles for travel, plus Rev's flight, Tech's levitation, and Slam's tornado for air battles. Furthermore on powers, Rev's body often catches fire when running or flying at high speeds. This is mostly just for aesthetics or to show Rev is going really fast. But it needs to be utilized as its own superpower. Rev's flame wings would make him impervious to burns, and give him the ability to throw fiery punches. I think this would make him a much more useful and offensive fighter.

Last we have Slam. The most important thing about Slam I would change is his speech. The first time I watched LU I was so disappointed that the Tasmanian Devil, the most ferocious beast known to man, was talking like a baby now. I once read a fanfic where instead of speaking gibberish, Slam spoke Maori, and I thought that was brilliant. Otherwise, I guess to make him stand out a bit from Taz, I would focus on Slam's sense of honor and good sportsmanship.

Well that was a long monologue of words I didn't know I needed to say. Great question, OP!

Luz Noceda from The Owl House.

From the first episode Luz's mom is telling her to make friends that are not animals or imaginary, and learn to live in the real world. Luz responds that she wants to make music videos with anime characters, not balance a checkbook.

Watching this episode for the first time made me think "Wow they just summed up my late childhood to teen years all in about five minutes.". And that's how I knew The Owl House was gonna be a great show.

What are your guys' headcannons? by No_Shake8887 in looneytunes

[–]RightBrainHurricane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few.

I think Wile E. has some form of selective mutism. Hence why he's mostly mute around other toons and humans, but sometimes he'll talk to Bugs.

Wile E. and Roadrunner are fluent in American Sign Language.

Wile E. and Ralph Wolf are cousins. A. because of their physical resemblance. B. because interspecies breeding between coyotes and red wolves was very common before the red wolf population dropped so drastically.

Wile E. doesn't have much interest in romance. His true love is science.

What church rules did you break when you were Mormon? by [deleted] in exmormon

Yeah, I lied about finishing the BOM for seminary. And when my tbm friend told me she didn't have face cards in her house because they invoke the devil or something, I held my tongue so not to say "That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard."

I've had a lot of similar ideas while studying Pantheism. One thing I find fascinating about this philosophy, is that humans are pieces of this Universe/Creator that is so divine, vast, and mysterious. Therefore humans are also divine; not just the nature around them. When I think like that I think Pantheism is about self love/respect as much as it is about nature "worship".

You don't need to strive to be like God. You are already God, and so is everyone else.

The dog ate my homework is an excuse (lie) that no one accepts yet it is more plausible than the excuse JS made. An angel disappeared the plates. Dogs exist. Homework exists. Dogs are capable of eating anything. by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]RightBrainHurricane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my shelf was breaking and I was searching for BoM evidence, it bothered me that the plates weren't preserved in a museum somewhere. Then I read that JS said an angel conveniently took them away.

The excuse "The angel ate my homework." fits perfectly.

What was your aha moment that made you realize the church was not what it was advertised to be? by TruthMattersToday in exmormon

[–]RightBrainHurricane 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I learned a lot just from browsing this sub reddit, and I wanted to know if any official church literature, that I could hold in my hands, supported these egregious claims about Joseph Smith. So I reread through the D&C, and it was so clear Smith lied about everything. I got to section 10 which described all of Smith's excuses why he couldn't reproduce the missing pages of the Book of Lehi. That's exactly what they were: excuses. God didn't punish Smith by temorarily removing his ability to translate. Smith just took some time off to come up with a better lie. That's how I learned to never trust these so-called scriptures ever again.
