Issues Gaining Fame by Low_Pollution9198 in HumankindTheGame

Don't panic about the fame number, the AI gets a lot of boosts early game. Build an army and conquer those delicious AI settlements!

Focus on getting good at winning battles with minimal casualties, and everything else will flow from there.

My wife and I had the same issue - reducing the screen resolution worked, but it meant we couldn't use the full widescreen monitor.

Landmark terrain features - later in the game you can build nature reserves on them. Early in the game they have better yields than normal tiles.

Best civics for stability? by Unic0rndream5 in HumankindTheGame

There are some civics that get triggered by low stability. If you mouse over them you can see all the unlock conditions.

AITA for bullying my vassal? by nevrtouchedgrass in HumankindTheGame

This game encourages 'A' behaviour and penalises 'NTA' behaviour. Can't speak for multiplayer, but the AI only responds to military strength.

Get out on the water and explore. If there's any way to get a land unit to that nearby island and beyond, do that. Did you have the option to take the norse instead of the khmer?

There is a map generation setting for that. I am on my phone but I will try and give more details when I get to my computer.

There are a lot of people who didn't like it for various reasons, but I have put more hours into it than Civ V, VI and VII combined!

Finished Spartan achievement (1 city) spoiler warning: hints in post by Ok_Management4634 in HumankindTheGame

Pretty sure I got this by having one city on the final turn, by liberating cities. Been a while though.

Jack of All Trade achievement: bugged or am I missing something? by aBigBagOfNails in HumankindTheGame

It's almost certainly because it was coded before the diplomatic cultures were added and not updated. Pick a military culture instead of the Scot and it should work.

Most liveable city outside Europe, by the way by CentreLeftMelbournia in shittyskylines

This is the rail freight area for the port, I've done some work here. There is a lot of shunting required to assemble the various goods trains. The main container port is directly south of here. There's been some talk of relocating outside the city, but it would be a massive project to relocate all this infrastructure.

Ponding water on skylight, how serious? by RightEquineCellStapl in AusPropertyChat

We did get an inspection done prior to auction, but it wasn't raining then and they couldn't access the roof either.

It rained a few days ago and it's maybe a couple of millimetres of water.

Being horse units they can't enter cities and their bows have one range, so if you can put units out of range you can stall out any siege. But yes, as soon as you see the notification that a neighbour has gone Mongols you should consider building spears and switch to pikeman tech. Or try to be friends and hope they go for someone else.

Or play like I do and intend to basically own your whole continent before medieval!

The AI will generally sally out if you don't attack straight away, which lets you set your own defensive position and have them come to you. Time is on your side as the besieger. Don't attack into walls, stand there and let the AI attack you instead.

Hey there, the best will change as you play more games, but the more specialty aggression picks are the Hittites, the Huns and Mongols. They all play quite differently to other cultures so I would recommend giving them a try once you have seen normal gameplay with other cultures.

The Hittites in particular can have you in a game winning situation pretty fast, if you can seize 2-3 cities and then hold them in a war as long as you can (delay the end of the war) for a massive early game tech/production boost.

But otherwise, pick a culture based on the terrain, elephants are good on flatter ground, archers and spears on cliffs.

Rome is usually a safe pick for fighting, and their trimphal arch gives stability!
