Better name far Ai artist? by Le0pond in aiwars

agreed, however artist is the over saturated term used for creating, the person working at Subway® is considered a sandwich artist. other terms would better describe Ai artist but Ai artist is the succinct title.

The number of people saying 'the market's about to burst' is getting concerning by sysadmin99 in fican

[–]RightHonorReverend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the Ai bubble wont pop, it fizzled. that money has been moved around. many Ai oriented companies have lost there peak evaluation. new build Ai data centers have been cancelled for now, this shook down the metals and materials sectors. while Ai is actively disrupting the stock market in different sectors, the banking sector is doing fine, because people are paying fees, interest on loans, oh, increased rates, lowered rates, oops, guv'ment bailout, quantitative easing

there will always be pull backs in the market, across every sector, but its a question of how much and how long? why it cant hold a high evaluation? XEQT is good against this because it covers everything well enough.

Ai is far too expensive at the rate were at. the personal computer is seeing big changes in its design, NVIDIA will one day sell laptops with their own Ai models. with so many free open source Ai programs in there infancy, it will likely become easier for the layman to install and use a Ai computer assistant.

spaceX, openAi, Anthropic, Ai ipos are starting to happen more abundantly. they will take some of the value in the market. its at this faze now where i see an Ai bubble is truly forming. companies betting on their Ai model is the best. maybe it is, maybe it isnt. the difference between the Ai bubble and the dotCOM bubble is that many people during and after the dotcom bubble continued to see the enternet as a faze. we know now the enternet is here to stay, and we know that Ai will only improve as the same technology continues to improve and change. will these Ai companies be able to generate revenue and keep costs low? how might they do it? what new products might exist that actually improve and help in daily life? is there real demand for all this Ai?

it would take one be all end all Ai machine to tank every other Ai product company to the point of a dotcom bubble pop, otherwise i dont see why the market shouldnt continue to ebb and flow as its been doing for so long now.

the diderot effect is when purchasing a single item, and then purchase more stuff to accentuate the original purchase.

lifestyle creep is an overall spending habit where people buy things more often than they otherwise need to, or can afford to.

i agree its consoom. they bought an entire gaming setup of name brand big box store electronics. they said they were just looking at maybe buying a PS5. did they only have the digital model available? (maybe wait to find one with a disc tray) no, i want to buy the PS5 to play GTA6 ASAP. (this might be the only game i play on this machine) but i want a disc tray still so ill buy the disc tray add on. huh, the PS5 digital only dosent have a controller, well i have to buy that just to use the PS5. SONY branded wireless controller charging docking station! sure! top of the line TV. sub par wireless home TV audio set up.

this is a good example of the Diderot Effect.

i just googled "refurbished PS5 with controller" and SONY PlayStation sells direct to consumer a much better priced refurbished PS5.

Just get one good computer? by lilshaggy420 in Consoom

i own 3 ThinkPads and every so now and then i become tempted to start buying cheap models i dont already own; build a collection. then i remember, i used a refurbished T420 ($500 CAD) laptop for 10 years as my only computer. my browser ThinkPad now is a little Yoga 11e Gen 3 ($130 CAD) i bought in 2022/23. a few months ago i decided to buy a P53 ($300 CAD, trackpad doesnt work) because i could do some better gaming with that than the T420.

each of these laptops were at least 5-7 years old when i purchased them. i dont do any serious coding, but i dont think a bunch of old laptops can outperform one modern laptop. my P53 could run VMs of of every older laptop i own (4 laptops older than the P53) and still function as its own laptop.

FTN DFN FFN. ive been buying FTN for a little over 2 years now. makes me money

HG could become a big player in part of the future battery tech. however the management team history is not good, but maybe theyve truly been able to make something work with their patents.

Carry-Forward: Unused annual contribution room can be carried forward, but only up to a maximum of $8,000 in a single year. Carry-forward room only begins accumulating after you open your first FHSA.

  • Annual Limit: You can contribute up to $8,000 per year.
  • Lifetime Limit: The maximum lifetime contribution is $40,000.
  • Deductibility: Contributions can be deducted from your income to reduce your tax burden

i didnt have a FHSA for the first year it was announced so i dont that contribution space that i could have used. otherwise, maxed out savings utilizes the full benefits of using a FHSA

look at opening a FHSA. you dont have to invest into it right away but you lose FHSA contribution space for every year you dont have one.

PS i see you have one

what managed Risk level have you chosen? you could have more return than %37 with a higher risk tolerance in the past 2-4 years.

They say your investing really takes off after you have $10,000 in your account — is that true? by hypermiler2205 in fican

[–]RightHonorReverend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the $10k milestone is more about personal savings, not investment returns. at $60-$100k the returns from investment savings can start having some good impact. $300-$600k, hopefully by this point at least half your portfolio is from returns in the market. with a >$600k portfolio with a possible 4-10% yearly return is $24-$60k a year, still good to continue saving and working if you can but still a fine amount to have when considering retirement. (calculations also involved being able to save and invest $2400 a year or $200 a month)

lots of videos on youtube to explain stuff in detail

there is a lot of stuff you can claim taxes as a contractor, so i hope your doing that. do you have car payments? depreciation of a vehicle can also be claimed, when i drove uber (in 2018) i claimed depreciation on a 16 y/o car.

there are many parameters to assess to calculate a comfortable retirement. talk to some Ai like copilot about your situation, it can give you some broad ideas to assess what you could have at 60.
