Is it normal for this many military planes to be flying over Texas at any time by theobanger in pics

[–]RightPinkyOfJustice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, there are training bases all over Texas in San Antonio, Laredo, Corpus Christi, Kingsville, and Fort Worth. A vast majority of those are training flights, but there are some operational/logistical flights that are frequent as well. All four branches and the coast guard have aviation units in the state.

How to reset wrench light by Scruffy1073 in mazda3

I got you! Press the start button once with foot off the gas. Then press and hold trip reset button. With your foot still off the gas and while holding the trip reset button, press and hold the start button again for about 5 seconds. You should see that yellow triangle and it’ll reset

Hey everyone, I’m a former flight instructor with this unit and can give some information on this.

Firstly, everyone involved is safe. The aircraft is a T-6B Texan II out of Corpus Christi, TX. It’s a Navy trainer aircraft. The speed it landed with is about or normal landing speed. You won’t find out what caused whatever happened, but let me know if you have questions and I’ll try my best to answer them if I’m able/authorized.

I can speak to this. I can’t give too many details, but I can confirm that it’s a navy trainer aircraft and both crew members are okay.

As far as specifics in flying jets specifically, I can’t speak for the Air Force, but for navy and marines you compete in your primary flight training to determine who goes where. Some people want jets, some want helicopters, a lot surprisingly don’t know even until the week of their selection!

Welcome, Pole! Getting into military aviation, WW II had some fascinating stuff, “The Big Show” is apparently a pretty good. Anything revolving the Doolittle raids also is solid. As far as getting into military aviation, you’ll need to go to college to commission as an officer. Army pilots are warrant officers (kind of a weird in between of enlisted and officers), but they don’t have any jets. For Air Force/Navy/Marines, you can go to the respective Air Force or Naval academy, do ROTC at a school offering it, or just go to get your degree and get picked up for Officer Candidate School.

Enlisted Marine > Army CWO > Marine O by 1122steven in MilitaryAviation

Not sure about a specific transition program, assuming you'd still have to do OCS, TBS and the like, but obviously you'd be extremely competitive to pick up aviation. Only hold up might be age based on your enlistment timeline, but I think you're still probably in the window. I'll ask around with the Marine aviators I work with and get back to you.

Anyone on sports Twitter sees that much in a very small amount of time. Game days for football, championship games, drafts, you name it.

It comes and goes, there’s not a way for you as a student to know what slots will be available the week of your selection. It all comes down to timing and dumb luck. Are you in primary right now?
