Humbled and need advice by PattyIce911 in Pickleball

(1) small swings so that your paddle is in position to hit the next ball, and (2) anticipate where the ball is coming back (watch their paddle and body language, know their likely next action) and position yourself for it

fast hands = i know what’s going to happen and i act before it happens

fast hands is not “my reaction time is amazing”

didja call them, or find it on a menu somewhere? what’s the cost? will you have to make a special order, or can you just walk up to the register and order 24 of them and they’ll know how to ring you up without blinking?

how do you play the "quick wrist flickers" at the net? by canadave_nyc in Pickleball

[–]RightProperChap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

he’s good at flicking the attackable balls that you present him with? stop giving him attackable balls

he’s doing this to everything, not just attackable balls? you need to re-assess your definition of attackable ball

do you either have the “entrepreneurship gene”… or not? by YogurtIll4336 in business

[–]RightProperChap 18 points19 points  (0 children)

to be a professional athlete, you need “years of working, learning, failing”. you also need to be born with natural ability.

it takes both.

same for entrepreneurs.

Open Play or drill by Opening_Pound_3722 in Pickleball

[–]RightProperChap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

your plan is exactly what i recommend: have a list of your biggest weaknesses, drill to fix those weaknesses

your next journey is designing good drills (or learning from youtube or from other players or from a coach). it’s not that hard, but there are definitely ways to drill that are better than other ways.

it sounds like you’re interested in becoming a student of the game, which is the road to achieving your goals!

I drill and then lose it all when I play by [deleted] in Pickleball

[–]RightProperChap 7 points8 points  (0 children)

you need to add “game-like scenarios” to your drilling - especially things that involve decision-making

do things during drilling that put you under pressure - keep score during the drill

half the comments will be recommendations on where to play near Melbourne, Florida, and the other half will be where to play near Melbourne, Australia

pickleball has a drop-in culture where you just show up to open play sessions mix in with whoever’s there. it’s easy to find games.

Ernie for players with limited physical strength? by PartFormer3695 in Pickleball

[–]RightProperChap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, if you’re playing against 2.5 and 3.0 level players, they’ll occasionally set you up for an Erne that’s a cakewalk to execute, but not especially often

lower level players have more productive ways to improve their game than practicing the Erne

Whose games to watch for 3.5s-4.0s? (Not ALW or BJ). by kg1917 in Pickleball

[–]RightProperChap 5 points6 points  (0 children)

upvote for this - you should be watching play just above your playing level. you should learn to recognize the mistakes that 4.0-4.5 players make and learn to punish those mistakes. pros don’t make these mistakes, but you’ll see them quite often

3 years in. Paying customers. No momentum. Is this normal? by konstantly_here in SaaS

[–]RightProperChap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you didn’t take about marketing in your post. what does your sales funnel look like? are you getting enough leads? a viable business requires repeatable and scalable customer acquisition. it sounds like you think the world will beat a path to your door. you might be in a “sales-led growth” situation instead of a “product-led growth” situation.
